I have one as well. Especially in the Corona-Times when my gym where i have a membership was locked (its open again) it came in really handy. I switch between my home-gym and the gym where i pay a membership. Because having a home-gym is great but talking to people in a gym can be great too. My gym is pretty cool and there are lots of friendly people there. But then again, when you are at home, and you are having this sudden urge to lift weights, you don't need to sit in your damn car and drive 20 minutes to your gym. Just go downstairs into your own gym. Simple as that.
What i learned tho (and this could be different for anyone) is that a home-gym can make you a lazy ass. Back in 2015 i quit my gym membership and started to build my own home-gym because i did not wanna pay the monthly fee's - I was a couple months really going hard at it but then i eventually just stopped. And that was the end of it until late 2017 when i started to hit the gym again (and been doing it since).
Overall i think i paid like 1500$ to 2000$ for all the stuff in my home-gym - Weights can get really expensive, especially if you wanna lift some heavy shit. But it will definitely be worth it in the long run if you compare it with a gym membership. I just like both. That's why i have both
