Sometimes I see people doing business on youtube and I hate their guts. But not for the reasons you might think. I hate their guts, because

  • They are still there. Their business doesn't tank, they don't suffer loss of money. They keep on posting regular content, no matter what. A storm can come and they are not even phased. Like companies that should not make money, but they do. More and more. And I cannot figure out why.
  • They are always well groomed, have a perfect radio voice, not to mention good genetics.
  • They show zero vulnerability.
  • They almost always have the hottest women next to them.
  • It seems they never have any traumatic experience to battle with, no real challenges. Or they have them and pass them with ease. You as the viewer feel inferior in every single aspect of life. And of course they reveal nothing that could help you be closer.
I hate their guts, because I have not been able to make my body be that way. I know that being calmer is better when dealing with other people but my body just won't follow along. When I do it, I look like a car flooring it while having the brakes on. I can only put on and off the brakes, never lay off the gas pedal. Without braking, I talk like a waterfoul, speak fast, have crazy ideas.

At least now that I talk daily for my podcast, my voice also improved towards a radio voice.

Can anyone relate. How do you deal with problems like that? How do you distill useful knowledge from seemingly successful people without asking them?

Your thread title and post don't match.

Anyway...these guys you talk about are like that picture of the iceberg. You see the visible shit, but they deal with a lot of things you don't see. Everyone does. They aren't an exception.

Who are you talking about exactly? I would like to know :)

Your thread sounds more like a rant about good looking successful people rather than a genuine interest in bettering yourself.

Lol...
I'd recommend you keep reading about successful people/companies and ask questions when it's adequate to do so. Over time you'll spot patterns.
Additionally, "48 laws of power" by Napoleon Hill is a book I'd recommend to you

What you see is not real. They build their image to sell a dream. Inside they are weak.

Why are you repeating your questions? And why did you send me a PM lol, you could've just replied to me here.

I used to struggle with this, as well. There was one very simple thing that I did, in order to get myself out of this mindset. So if you want to go from being a loser nobody, whose channel averages 2 - 4 weekly views, to becoming the next YouTube sensation, there's only one simple secret that you must know! Here is one very important hack that you can use to find the secret to becoming just as good as your favorite influencer. If you master this trick, you will become limitless.

Click below to unveil the secret.

Click on their channel and go to their first video to reveal just how much of a newbie they once were. Watch later (but still old) videos, and note their incremental improvements. Don't compare their "today" to your "today", when they started consistently making and uploading video content, 3 years ago.

You doubt your self too much.
And you let your hate blind you.

You will never "distill useful knowledge" from some one who, in your view, is only "seemingly successful". You will only distill seemingly useful knowledge.

I think you want to mention this book "The law of success in sixteen lessons" by Napoleon Hill
Because the author of "48 laws of power" is Robert Greene

They're not going to tell you anyway. Watch what they do, not what they say.

As for your original post:
  • Their business works because they post consistently.
  • If they're not 'showing vulnerability' and they're popular on YouTube then your market probably doesn't give a shit about their woes. Don't try and dictate to the market what you think they should want.
  • Plenty of profitable YouTubers are average looking at best. Brush your hair and put on a shirt.
  • Speaking clearly on a video is something you get with practice. It comes with confidence and conscious effort.
Jealousy is a useless emotion, especially in business. You're either going to change your mindset to focus on improving yourself or you're going to fail.

You seem like a mature person. Do I have to tell you that most of the things you see online are not real?
Online personalities stand in a narrow passage between normal people in real life and professional actors.
A 15 min video may take 5/6 hours to shoot and edit. If you consider the planning and scripting phase, it takes days or even weeks.
You can not psychoanalyze their personalities just by looking at those videos or their social media. They only show you what they want you to see and everything else is still secret, unknown.
But there are definitely a few things to learn here -
  • You do you; no matter what. Let nothing stop you; an economic crash, a google update and not even a pandemic.
  • Think and act logically, do not get influenced by temporary emotions.
  • Even when you suffer, you do not need to tell that to anyone. What anyone else has to do with your problems? Nothing. So they don't really need to know about your sufferings.
  • Instead, show confidence. Because confidence is attractive, self-doubt is not. This is very important in order to make money or to be successful in general. You show that you're confident about yourself and your product/service. Like fear, confidence is also contagious.
  • Practise makes a man perfect. This happened in your case. You're already seeing results. So I don't need to talk more about this.
It's all about the basics. Nothing specific about a specific successful person. You can not and don't have to "distil" or squeeze every bit of information from these people. You're not making orange juice.

And if you're particularly interested in success, you don't have to research it from scratch. It's already been done for you by many famous writers like Napoleon Hill, Dale Carnegie, Robert Greene, Stephen Covey, Robert Kiyosaki and many others.
