Nice score. I'm jealous. Been getting remove unused CSS on mine and it gets 53-66 mobile score. Does anyone knows how I can solve this as googling left me confused.

Using the GTmetrix tool it will tell you what your problem is. Using a premium cache plugin like WP Rocket with using do the trick and boost your website speed, if your strapped for cash the best cache plugin alternative is Autoptimize. Hope that helps.

Thank you for the info, really nice of you writing this guide.
However, I think it's pretty easy to achieve high score on clean and less complex sites. Try adding like 2-3 times more articles on your home page, similar to news websites, and see how it becomes harder.
The more images / complex website the harder it is. It would require more time and efforts to optimize everything.

Mobile optimization is mostly the hardest, and usually requires special configurations for heavily modified websites.

My point, it's not always so easy as it seems, requires a lot of testing and is very time consuming.

@bandititf9 It is not as also as difficult as it appears to speed up a website the key is knowing what the issues is with each website. In most cases people have images on their website that is too large for the images blocks and additional most bloggers unknowingly use PNG images on their website when they should JPG.

Additionally most images are not optimized on website resulting stalled server request times. Hope that helps.

You need to be able to move the code manually in your theme or defer it with a cache plugin. Hope that helps

Yes if you are not using the plugin you should always delete it do not leave it there you will leave you WordPress open to security risk be leaving unused plugin on your WordPress.

I'm using wp fatest cache and other perf plugin Asset cleanup , automatic dns perfetch , and i added instapage

Jetpack is a very bloated plugin offering all kinds of options and will slow down your website. Do this test... run your website through the GTmetrix tool and take a look at your website speed score with Jetpack plugin installed then view your Waterfall report and see if the Jetpack plugin is affecting your speed.

Secondly deactivate Jetpack and uninstall it from your website clear your cache then run the tool again and view your results I'm sure you will see and increase in website speed.

Just a head up though if you decide to do the above not you will lose any Jetpack settings and will have to do a setup again if you decide to use it. Smush plugin is a better alternative for images and why would you need to bloat your website down with GA in the dashboard when you can view direct on the GA website. I also tell people developers with the GA plugins have a lot of up sells they push in your Wordpress dashboard when should you carry around that bloat.

Is it okay to keep both ?
because asset cleanup also giving options to minify html css and js.

Fortunately I don’t use too many of these, but this is great info. Love the idea of Asset Cleanup, which I’ve never heard of until now.

Slightly off topic, but related - I just deactivated a ton of Chrome extensions that were really slowing down my browser and making it lag. I’ll activate what I need when I need it. I’m guessing they work the same way, with all of those extensions (mostly related to SEO) trying to access and analyze every website I visit at the same time.

Good idea for another post actually. If you do SEO, what are your favorite Chrome extensions? Are there any you find particularly useful - or on the other side, inaccurate?
