beating MY weed addiction.

I get super duper extra lazy (but I get some great ideas while high, but you know.. fuck the ideas if I'm not even able to execute them (most of them))

If you want to quit it, then cold turkey is bad for your health.
Tell me about it, I haven't felt better in along time. I don't need to prove you anything, do whatever makes you happy.

I have been using cannabis for the last 8 years or so ... it is medicine. I was having hell big stuttering problem + social anxiety. I have tried lots of different pharmaceuticals with zero success and damn this pharma stuff is dangerous. There is no cure for the stuttering but cannabis cured it 90%

If it makes you lazy, then you smoke too much. I only smoke in the evenings and it makes me hell productive when stoned. Yeah, it makes me a little lazy also but that's nothing compared with my other sh*t if no puffs.

If you want to quit it, then cold turkey is bad for your health. I would quit it for smoking only at nights and high CBD/low THC Indica strain for 1 month along, for example, Dinamed Kush CBD Autoflowering 16% CBD, THC 0.6%.
THIS!!!! If you're getting bombed out of your mind, you have a problem but it's nothing to do with what substance you are abusing. It could just as easily be Sugar as Cannabis.

This is fair.

But you admit you're massively biased. I mean if I owned a women's clothes store I'd be telling people all day long about how important it is for women to look nice.

I've taken every drug you can put a name to and plenty you've probably never heard of. I've have had north of hundreds of friends throughout my life who smoke, as well as a good number of family members - it's not coming from a place of ignorance, the opposite.

It's not benign, no matter how your subjective experience has been. Sure, it's not hugely harmful in relatively moderate amounts, in fact it's beneficial and depending on the strain is a nice social drug that can be enjoyed without negative results.

But just because that's true doesn't mean that millions of people don't smoke in a dysfunctional way that damages their lives. Mainly because it is so widely accepted and so innocuous.

You obviously love (I choose that word carefully) weed, and that's a problem if you're trying to subjectively assess it's impact on the wider world outside of your rich lawyer stoner clients who have their shit together anyway and represent a tiny fraction of daily cannabis users. I'm guessing your kind of getting stoned is very different to a lot of other peoples' getting stoned.
Like I said, I will never change your mind just as you will never change my mind. I don't "love" Cannabis but I do understand the benefits of it's use which is the sole reason I opened a dispensary. That and the amazing results I had when dealing with Cancer.
You keep saying you're experienced but refuse to acknowledge the things you are saying have been proven, by many scientist in many countries to be false.
Of course there are people who abuse it but how can you blame the substance not the individual?

I have a ton of Published research that proves everything you said is false if you're actually interested in learning the truth. If not, I understand but you call my experience subjective, which it is, but so is yours. Every experience with every substance in the world is subjective. I love peanut butter but my nephew goes into anaphylaxis shock when he eats it so should we say Peanut butter should be regulated because there's a portion of the population that can't use it?

I don't think it should be available to everyone, it should be regulated same as alcohol (which IS actually dangerous because it destroys your body). I don't think people under 25 should use it unless they have a medical problem that it's proven to help. Your brain is still developing up to that age and I'm 100% for responsible use.
I just hate when people blame a substance for the way it affects someone. Has zero to do with Cannabis and is up to a person to know their body well enough to understand if they can handle it or not.

Yes, I'm very passionate and it's not because I own a dispensary but I've seen the amazing benefits it has. I have patients that are kids with epilepsy who have reduced their seizures to 1 or 2 every 4 or 5 months, where before they would have several per week. I also spent a TON of time and money fighting for legalization in my state because I have personally experienced the benefits. The people you describe would be the same whether it were Cannabis or Big Mac's. They can't control themselves, that's not knocking anyone it's just a fact. I'm the same way with chocolate. I try to avoid it but if it's around, I'm eating all of it. Doesn't mean chocolate is horrible, just means I have no self control with that particular substance.

I agree with much of your last post, but with this ^ I wasn't saying what you said was wrong.. I was saying that it's important to realise that your experience is not necessarily representative of everyone that smoke pot, and that it's potentially addictive and can lead to people living in a semi-vegatative state for years.

I agree with your comparison with alcohol and with thoughts about younger people taking it.

Absolutely, I wasn't saying the OP should keep using, it's obviously a problem and I truly hope he can kick the habit. I just don't agree with blaming Cannabis, it's not good for him but that doesn't mean it isn't good for others. Until he realizes it's him that he needs to work on and has nothing to do with WHAT substance he's abusing, I think it will be difficult to "kick the habit". I enjoyed discussing with you and hope others can maybe take something away from the points we both made.
Have a great day!

you're funny :D
In my 1st post in the thread, I'm stating that it is me and I have nothing against weed and weed users. but.. it is a drug and to be where I am there are 2 sides that counts - me and weed and without one of the sides there wouldn't be any addiction or problem, do the math yourself.

+ there are more bad cases than the good ones, wait for a couple of years you'll realize.

Good luck with it budd,
Be patient and stay strong, day per day you can get ride of it!

This is pure ignorance. Cannabis isn't a "drug", it's a medicine and just like any substance in the world someone can become addicted. I own 2 Brick and Mortar businesses and cleared upper 6 figures last year and work harder than most people I know. Using Cannabis is the ONLY way I made it through Chemotherapy and the recovery afterwards. Your statement should be "weak people can have negative consequences from anything". There's no such thing as "good" or "bad" drugs. There are only drugs, people choose whether to use them in a good or bad way. Lumping in every user of Cannabis as "druggies" or "lazy" is the most ignorant thing I've seen in a while. My 97 year old grandfather smokes daily and doesn't have to rely on any "pharmaceuticals" to function.

Some people can't handle Cannabis, some people can't handle food or alcohol, but your generalized statement about people who do being lazy is just completely wrong.

Umm, no. Cannabis is NOT healthy, yes it can cure for some sicknesses but tht doesnt mean its not dangerous, please stop arguing it.

I agree with some of what you've said about it being about the person smoking to a degree as well.. but if there are lots of people that all have drawbacks to smoking weed (chronic lethargy, demotivation in life, health issues, addiction, even psychological issues) then it becomes something common to the drug instead of being something only about the individual.

ie. it's obviously a problem with the drug when we talk about the negatives to do with something like crystal meth or heroin, but then when we're talking about weed and the negatives to do with it that people experience, we can't then say "that's all on the person, weed itself is totally harmless".

* Also, OP has been super straight up throughout this thread and doesn't seem to be blaming this on anything. At the same time, I think it's hardly fair to say that OP's issues with weed were based on himself and not on what he was smoking (because of points made above).

You're blaming meth and heroin, they are just substances that exist on our planet. They aren't good or bad, positive or negative. How people choose to use or abuse them is what's bad or negative. "Meth" in it's legal, prescription form is used to treat a host of illnesses just as heroin or opiates are. Some people function just fine and can handle taking them as prescribed, others abuse them. Of course these are the extreme, as they are highly addictive but this is information that in 2020, we are aware of. Again, it's a personal responsibility to be an adult and stop blaming a substance that can't choose how it's used and we begin to put the blame where it belongs on the person. Instead of putting these people in jail, we should be offering reform and helping them stop using whatever substance they can't control themselves around, whether it be a "drug" or any other object people can't control themselves with. Again, and for the last time as I feel I've beat this horse to death, blaming your weakness on an inanimate object is the problem. I don't see how anyone would think they could kick any habit until they admit that the problem isn't with that object but within themselves. You say, "lot's of people that have drawbacks" but science says about 3.8% of people experience adverse effects, with the most common reported being paranoia. That's not a lot and there are ZERO studies that have proved any psychological effects on fully developed, adult brains. Again, you're quoting the reefer madness, D.A.R.E information the government has indoctrinated us with in the last 70 years. It works because you have quoted it several times, while there is a TON of scientific research out there that dismisses all the propaganda you posted.
Everyday we learn more about Cannabis through scientific research now that it's becoming legal. The sad part is we could have known all of the amazing benefits from this plant many years ago if not for racist, xenophobic laws that were only used as a way to control people. The reason I'm so passionate is I've personally seen and experienced the amazing benefits and have to listen to people who have never actually researched any of this tell me "their opinion", which is only made up of the BS they have been told. Luckily the worlds changing and more and more people are actually researching for themselves and the truth is coming out, but it's the same scenario as advances in Science.
It's not that Science advances so fast and we discover all of this new information all of the sudden. A lot of this stuff we have or learn about only becomes "normal" or accepted when the older generation, who have been fed a whole lot of BS their entire life about something, die off and the new technology or information then becomes the norm. People hate change and are reluctant to attempt change. If we all just sit around and allow misinformation about something to happen, we will never see the change that is needed. The most ridiculous example of this is the number of people in PRISON for a fucking plant! Whether anyone agrees or disagrees with me, I will post the facts as they have been presented to me by Scientist, researchers, physicians and people who spend time learning and teaching about this subject. I try to leave my personal feelings out of this but it's difficult when you have personally experienced the amazing benefits I have.

I thought weed was good for our health?

I will post the facts as they have been presented to me by Scientist
post your facts somewhere else, this thread is for those who want to quit smoking weed!
And science is wrong, they pick 100 people and call that a study - yeah sure that's nice little school experiment + these "studies" are made within a short period of time.

i struggled with pills after a surgery cut your self off from the places you can get it, and surround yourself with supporting people that will help alot.

That's shit gonna fucks your brain. drop the shit away.

And most important don't hang with the fox that smoke anything (stay away from them while you are trying to stop that's shit for good.
