Hi everyone. I want to start my journey on youtube to grow my channel and upload beats to it. I also have a Beatstars account. Given the fact that there is much competition, if you filter the amount of uploaded videos in the last hour for let`s say "tyga type beat", you will find more than 10 vids uploaded in the last hour.
I know you have to find good keywords with less competition to rank your video but Idk how to find it precise. Do you think Google Trends can help me find new keywords without comp? If yes, how ? I`m also having vidIQ enterprise. Is there any strategies who can help me to get an advantage in front of that users ? It`s worth to advertise my channel or my videos using Google Adwords ?

Any advice is welcome.

Don't advertise anything, make good beats, copy what the top guys are doing and keep it consistent. I said this because you are just getting started, I can't comment on finding a low competition keyword. What I did in my case was analysing what others are doing, and hopefully you can make it too.

Have you doing beats? Why you can't comment about finding a good keyword? I'm asking for help because I think nowadays is too hard to rank up with copying others strategy because of the saturation in YouTube.

Maybe u should try and target upcoming rappers that can bring u traffic .. i guess that's the only way to low competition. Best of luck and wish u success on your journey

Yeah, i think so. But I don't know if is there any strategy to get them, maybe using google trends?
And do you think if i'm making backlinks for my YouTube channel also will work? I'm planning to do a website also to promote it with Google Adwords. Idk if is a good ideea.

You have to dig deep. I don't know if google trends can help with that but you can follow the youtube channels that bring upcoming artists for interviews.

Yeah dude. I've watched Ant Chamaberlain interview some time ago. He said he was uploading one beat per day for a year, and in my opinion that's too much cuz to make a good beat you have to spend a lot more time. If I go in tehnical details, his art is dry, without mastering, he is focusing on quantity over quality.
Anyway this example is one of the lucky guys, because, a lot more producers are struggling to get subs and views on YouTube for years, even if they uploads constantly on YouTube. I think it have to exist some methods to grow up faster...

And i forgot to say: If you watching old producers who are already on the top (CashmoneyAp, etc) they can't be beaten because in their starting time (3-4 years ago) the competition was small, and nowadays is massive.

One of the main takeaways from the Ant Chamberlain interview is go for rappers who are not so popular yet so there's not competition for.

You're never going to be able to compete for artists like Tyga.

Some random ideas I came up with:

- Use 3 artists names in each title with a brackets for more keywords:
Eg. Tyga ft. Kid Ink & Chris Brown type beat (the HOTTEST hip-hop instrumental of May 2020)
There, you have the keywords of three artists, plus "Beat", "instrumental" and the date (edit the title each month).

- Put "bonus beats" at the end of each video or anything to stretch out the video to make it longer. If you can get longer watch time than your competitors whos' videos are all only three minutes long, you'll rank better than them.

- Improve your clickthrough rate by improving your thumbnails
Put a bright coloured background. On top of that, put the artist's face quite zoomed in with a very HD photo of them making a face. Use the "stroke" tool on Photoshop to put a line around their face.

I know you want to take the quality approach over quantity but honestly, quantity is going to be needed.

If you're not personally going to put out a large quantity of beats, use other producers' to grow your channel.

Make 30 minute long mixes of different producers' beats and try and get the individual producers to share it. Use royalty free videos from pexels to loop in the background.

These long videos will make it easier to rank than just a 30 minute video.

Collaborate with rappers and other producers to upload your songs together and cross promote your channels.

I think a good method would be to remake a beat for a new song that drops while making your own original type beats at the same time. I do this with my dance videos. I would dance to a new song that just dropped for example Dababy Rockstar and would do a Tutorial the following day to keep the numbers rolling. I gain alot of subscribers when I dance to new music or do whats trending thats all its about now a days.

Do what you feel like is good for u dude, if you don't know how heavy drill movement is presently I don't think you have any business with hip-hop... You probably from Europe I guess


Piece of advice if you wanna make it big through hip-hop ur ear needs to be on the ground in the streets...

i made last month around 1 key but it's random af sometimes i get only couple hundred. You think i'm still that new? i mean there are lots of rookies starting every day
