I've noticed quite a few YT producers with a lot of subscribers and crazy-high play counts often don't have big following on other platforms.
Take Laykx for example
Is he just buying YT plays / subscribers? Or he won the YouTube algorithm lottery?

For me 1k/month it's awesome, cuz i'm in a 3 world country. But I mean about the low amount of subs, it's too low for 3 years in the business. Do you optimize your vids by tags, etc?
A lot of producers does not have much followers on insta, twitter, soundcloud. They're just gaining customers through YouTube.

This happens in other niches too, doesn't mean anything mate! but I went to check this person channel, and I compared to other competitors in your niche, and he do have a weird high volume of views! he is doing same numbers as mainstream artists with just an instrumental and on a daily basis!
Maybe he is buying views in very high volume to trick the algorithm and than let it build organic! not sure but quite interesting.

You need to have a decent baseline of quality, but quantity is definitely what matters the most. Most people don't care nearly as much about the mix and mastering loudness as a producer would do. I started uploading consistently about a month ago and I'm already gaining more views than my friends who has 5x my subs.
