I always run some type of ads and try to leverage the audience in a best way possible, to get the most out of every $ spend by collecting the custom audience, emails, messenger subscribers, page likes, etc. >> and invite all of them to the closed Facebook group.

The most success I had in growing a Facebook group was by running ads for a giveaway. So these ads and the whole sequence was designed to make money over and over again from subscribers while collecting group fans, emails, audience, etc. was just a ‘by-product’ of this campaign. This was by far the fastest and cheapest way to grow the group. The ad was connected to the messenger sequence where one of the sequence messages was an invite to the closed Facebook group with 90%+ CTR.

Second is by running ads for page likes and then inviting those as I described in the first post.


For me, it was always a waste of time spamming pages or groups with my links. So there are probably others that can help with this kind of grey/BH free methods.


Here are some WH free ideas:

• Put your link to the group anywhere you can - blogs, email, thank you pages, all social accounts, etc.
  
  
• If you start running ads and getting those Facebook page likes - make a post about your group regularly.
  
  
• Once you start getting people in, ask them to invite their friends to this amazing community (group). You can even run a small giveaway once per week for those that will invite at least 5 people.
  
  
• Find similar groups and ask the admin if they would be interested in cross-promoting.

This is a great addition for the initial thread. I have always neglected to grow my FB page, IG seemed so much easier. Also I am kinda scared to do too much FB stuff. Not sure if there is any connection to the ad account, but i had it been disabled a few times.
Anyway, i will try to follow your idea and see if i can grow the following. A giveaway seems to be a great idea.

Hot niche? No one can answer that. It all depends on how much you invest in learning about it and the products that you have to promote. I have multiple groups in all kind of niches, from Christian moms, small dogs to fitness niche - I'm not religious, I don't own a dog and definitely not fitness type of person

What I do is a market first approach, meaning you find a passionate audience and do A TON of research and give them exactly what they want.

The market approach will make your life much easier, and your success rate way higher instead of the product approach first. Meaning, instead of looking for the ’perfect’ product, find your perfect audience first.

Pick top 3 niches you want to be in, join groups, check niche related magazines, websites, big FB pages, shops/brands, influencers/authors. You will get an idea of who the audience is, how old, what they like, etc. If you go the extra mile, ask magazines for their media kit where they have their audience layout of their subscribers so you can easily target the same pool of people on Facebook.

What is the buzz around those sites? What are they passionate about? What kind of products do you see often? What are they emotionally attached to?

If someone is paying to be in a magazine, do you think that the product is selling? You can find something similar + make a bundle with related products to be 100% unique (and make more money). This way you will be way ahead of anyone else starting.

Do your research first, and everything will follow. You will learn more about a niche and get ideas instantly.

But there is one downside of this that one needs a decent page for this.

You are forgetting that we all started with 0 fans - same with every new type of business, you have to start somewhere
There are a ton of ways to start growing your group, which is still very cheap to build up and all the benefits that bring you.

Have a page with about 20k fans but my engagement on the page has been absolute shit. Just created the group and sent the first wave of invites to as many as I could. Let’s see if I can get a decent portion of the fans to become members at my page. I’ll keep you updated.

Update : It’s been over a week now and my group’s been growing at a good pace. Engagement is off the charts tbh, people are contributing content to the group by themselves.

I’ve got one question though, when does the invite button reset? I thought it’s 24 hours but sometimes it takes longer and sometimes shorter.

Unfortunately, there are no rules regarding this function. Some don't even have this option and have to wait a week or two when they open a group.

Things I want to point out when you are building up a FB group:

• In the beginning, encourage them to invite people to this group 'Help us grow this amazing private group! Invite your family and friends to join us!', and pin this post so everyone that gets in sees it.
• Don't post in a group as a page - it is way better to post as an admin. People need that personal approach and are more likely to engage.
• Schedule posts (questions, videos, images) at least 1per day from the admin account. If they 'see you around' they will recognize you as an authority, and an important part of this group. This way it will be way easier to sell and offer products/services.

If it's a new group sometimes it takes a while for this feature to show up.

My own page is upto six months and I don't have the options,
I can only invite friends to my group
I can't find option to invite those who likes my page

There is also an invite option on your Facebook Page - under groups - where your group is linked.
If you don't have this then I don't really have any other suggestions.

If we can add only the targeted people, that would be the best for our business or service.

yes great guide and also increase your ROI, on Fb page promotion, getting the follower of the page, in a group... and most of all there is increased interactions, also sometimes we have pages, with some low score, for blocks got in the years, so reach is turned quite low, where is possible to recreate more engagement in the group
