So i have heard people saying google gives priority to blogspot sites and they tend to index/rank faster.

And to be honest even i have experienced this.. i have/had few blogspot sites that ranked way better in compared to wordpress.

what do you think about this??

Google always prefers their properties to rank better but not all their products are of good quality. They tried to provide almost all services linked to a primary gmail account. They gave up this idea when facebook became successful. The blogspot blogs reduced in number from top SERPs starting from 2013-14. If the trend continues, Google will someday announce that they are going to get rid of all blogs. At present, they are giving priority to their blogs (mainly due to loading speed) but it may not last long.

Never saw Blogspot article ranking for any actual keyword, just saying. If its true, Gold mine alert.

yes everyone knows google owns blogspot :p but i have seen people saying google giving priority to blogspot in ranking/ indexing faster than other platforms is true as well some of them said its a myth, so its kinda confusing...but in my experience i think its true..

It is true... it is a decent parasite site.

It won't be a long lived site for your KWs but it will work nicely for a time as a parasite.

Indexing part is true. I used to submit my posts to index and they are live within 5 mins, while it takes sometimes a day or even more for wordpress. Google doesn't take traffic and posting frequency into consideration while indexing blogspot blogs. My blogspot posts used to rank in top 3 SERPs for main keyword immediately after posting and slowly disappear within 3-4 hours. This was last year and without any backlinks. They are good as parasites if you can post 2-3 times a week.

Blogspot sites are easy to add adsense. Google is earning through that. It's a successful free platform for beginners and those who want to write without spending for hosting. So, I think Google will not get rid of their blogs.

Holy! Makes sense.

I was pretty sure it was common knowledge that G owned them.

Was only making a point but as a parasite it is good for a bit though.

Google is not as pure as the driven snow and does favor their own properties as well as some others.

This actually not true at all, in fact, Blogspot sites ranking high in search results clearly imply low competition for a certain keyword.

I don't think they give priority cuz never seen any blogspot blog ranking in big keywords

I don't think if Google earns much from blogspot blogs. As wordpress shot to fame, most of the top blogspot blogs turned into wordpress blogs. Only low-medium traffic blogs use adsense and their income doesn't add much. If we see from a business perspective, blogspot is a burden with all the storage and maintenance. Moreover, this is not the first time Google gets rid of their services as Orkut, Buzz and Google+ were stopped when there was a scope to develop them. Even Google docs are turning into blogspot alternatives as single page sites, so I doubt if they still need blogspot.

index faster - yes
ranks better - no, it will rank like any other site - no extra preference is given here
