There's nothing wrong with curated content, but you will need to re-write it so it's not a direct copy and paste.
A good source of content when you're starting out is to go through the archives of viral sites and find posts from a while ago that have some interest. Use them as a starting point (including the images), but re-write the text as much as you can. Be sure to use h/t (hat tip) at the end of your post to recognise the original source. Or find funny videos and write your own short intro.
If you're looking for a quick and dirty short-term way to create a viral site, you could always get some autoblogging software and populate your site using other viral sites' RSS feeds. Some software even includes content spinning for unique output. It depends on how you want to monetise your site. Adsense would probably have a problem with the quick and dirty version.
