Hello,

I have a website and i found out some other interesting and close domain names to it, with slight differences, for example (with an 's' or order of words inverted).

Anyway, i wanted to know if i purchase new domain names and redirect them all to my website, will that contribute in any positive way to my website SEO ?

Thank you

yes surely it will but for that use forward or redirect options to the real domain which is to be indexed

If redirection is done properly
And those links have .. backlinks
yes it helps .
as Those links will be redirected towards your site.

What's the worst that can happen if they have backlinks?
There is nothing worse in that .
If they have backlink
Then it is good
You will get two benefits
First a redirect backlink from a good website + all the backlinks that site had before.

Why banned? If backlinks are spam shts then just give a redirect from the website. don;t do the change my address thing in Google search console

If you do Change My address in Google Search Console only then your all backlinks go to the new site otherwise they don't
Otherwise it is just a normal redirect link from one site to other

the other site won't get backlinks from the first site.

Yes you can redirect and your site authority will be increased. But you have to check if the domain is related to your site and the quality of backlinks. If it contains spammy links it will affect your site. So have a clean check before redirecting.

As long as good backlinks, clean portfolio and the redirection is done properly.

If i get a domain name with a great "Domain Authority" but no blacklinks whatsoever will that be effective ?

The redirection is properly done, the real domain to be indexed.

I guess you are saying that... FRESH domain names that are very close to your domain are available and if you redirect them to your domain then will it help or not. In this case... NO there will be no benefit if the newly found domain are fresh.

People here are saying that... it will help if the other domains have good backlinks and you are using 301 redirects. Well, this is true but BEWARE... the benefit will be temporary (for a short duration of time) if your website doesn't have the content topics which were present on the domains which you are redirecting.

In other words, if you want to keep the link juice for a longer time then you need to put the content (same or even better) which was present on the domain which you are redirecting.

Another thing you need to do something about inner pages redirection. The best way to do this is... create the content of the redirected domain's inner pages on your domain and redirect inner pages to respective inner pages.

Your question about great domain-authority domains with no backlinks... I don't believe this will help you measurably good. If I need to take this decision then I would have hired a good content writer and get some good articles written for my website instead of buying doubtful domains and thinking to get benefited from their redirections.

What you say makes a lot of sense. Thank you for taking the time to clarify that for me !

Now i can see that seeking other domains is like chasing after something empty, i won't be getting anything from it and certainly nothing sustainable !

Clearly, i'll need to change my approach !

Thanks
