Are your business testimonials fake?

What do you think about fake testimonials?
Can you get sued for it? Does it matter whether you use fake testimonials even when your product is top-notch in the market and over-delivers what it promise.

If you have some previous happy customers you can always ask for their testimonial, most probably if you did good job then they accept.

But afterall, fake ones work fine also

Doubt you're gonna get sued, most reviews over internet are fake in one way or another. They always give a little boost in the trust of new customers so go for it

But to answer the question in the title, no, I don't use fake testimonials because my clients know the quality of my service. I've known of people who have used them, but I often find them shoddily done and obvious to spot.

They stink of desperation in all honesty.
I cringe when you see websites proclaiming how great their services are, how they have 50k happy clients and they are using fake/stock images.

I found a site 3 or 4 years back and they had this glowing review from this female called Jill ( or something ) who was there in a business suit. It was someone I knew, who is a law professor at an American university, clearly not called Jill the VP at XYZ.com.

If you need to fake reviews, your service must be shit. It also screams to stay away, as it highlights your business practices are shady.

I think this is nice one to avoid legal problems.

Whenever i get chance. I take mobile of friends and relatives to share business review on trust pilot, google and it works well.
