How to find low competition Keywords

There are n number of articles to find longtail and low competition keywords.

Am about to start a website. Am using ahrefs. Whenever i try for low competion keywords i am extracting tons of it but the problem is when i try to search that in google (am using Moz toolbar for chrome) , it displays search results and most results are from websites with 80 plus Da.

I would like to get search terms which is low da in serp . I don't want much search traffic i would like to get keywords with 200 to 300 searches a month.

My website is on health niche and am searching for generic keywords like weight loss.

Is there a way where i can achieve this. Or should i use different keywords and how can i get those keywords.

When you´re trying to outrank an article you need to focus on their PA and not so much on DA. If Ahrfes shows you that´s a low comp keyword it just doesn´t matter if you´re up against a much higher DA authority. What matters is that article PA. If it is low, with a piece of content you´re sure you can improve in terms of quality and length then you should go for it.

This just isn´t going to work for you. Weight loss is one of the most competitive niches out there and you will be up against plenty of authoritative websites. So, again, i strongly advice you to target low competition keywords. Go back to Ahrefs and hit keyword explore, type in your root keyword and just filer the results for monthly searches between 150 and 500 and competition with Max at 5 and start with those.

How long does it take for keywords to rank in Google?

There´s no black & white rule on the amount of time it will take your keywords to rank in Google. Assuming that, by ranking, you mean hitting the first page? Top 3? Or, does ranking in google to you means getting your article indexed?

Either way, it depends. A keyword can take a couple of hours, to a few days, weeks or even months to rank on the first page in Google. It mostly depends on what keywords are you targeting and their level of competition.

If we´re tanking about how long before Google indexes your article it also depends on many factors but fortunately we have some advice from more experienced marketers

This has a direct correlation with the competition levels of the keyword. If the keyword has very low competition you don´t need backlinks in order to rank it on the first page and vice-versa, the higher the competition then I am afraid you will need to gradually build more links as the competition gets tougher or even go with some paid advertisement.

There are many keyword tools in the market that can accurately give you this metric. You have free ones and paid ones.

Among the free ones you have Google Keyword Planner and Ubersuggest

A really cheap one you got Keywords Everywhere ($10 for 100,000 credits)

Among the paid ones (and most affordable ones) you got Kwfinder starting at $29.90 with 100 searches per 24 hours is definitely your best choice among the cheapest ones.

And some of the more "premium" (more expensive) ones you got Ahrefs and SEMRush.

I think the best way to find a low competition keyword is by Google Adword Keyword Planner. You just need to register there and find your keyword.

There is no set rule you can follow to find low competition keywords. The best is to inspect the top ranking sites yourself and formulate a plan to do better than them.

Even then, there's no guarantee you'll be able to outrank them with relative ease. It's all about trying and testing.

dont look that way.. suppose youtube come in top 10 often that will have a DA of 99 but its video and if you come with good content , you could beat it.
