Any visitor would be scared away immediately unless the page has content that he or she really needs.

Try using caching and tell cloudflare to cache your pages at their end. Cloudflare can save you hosting costs by serving your content from their endpoint.

That's a fact and i need to rectify it.

Run an audit in chrome dev tools. It should give you some insights into the performance.
