Too many backlinks per day ?!

A novice question : what does mean "Sandboxed" ?

When you are put in a large box covered with sand where you can't breathe:D
According to wikipedia:

"
The Sandbox (a.k.a. Sandboxing or the sandbox effect or the Google penalty) is a name given to an observation about the way Google ranks web pages in its index. It is the subject of much debate?its existence has been written abouhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandbox_Effect#cite_note-0http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandbox_Effect#cite_note-1 but not confirmed and several observers state that they have observed the contrary.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandbox_Effect#cite_note-George-2
According to the sandbox effect, Google temporarily reduces the page rank of new domains, placing them into what is referred to as its "sandbox", in an effort to counter the ways that search engine optimizers attempt to manipulate Google's page ranking by creating lots of inbound links to a new web site from other web sites that they own. "

So as a conclusion, it's a period of time which is believed to be 3-4 months where Google penalizes you by not ranking you in the SERP, meaning not counting PR of your site. It is believed that this happens to every new site.
The best you can do is forget about it and build links and update the site with good content daily and G. will start ranking you!

PS: Next time use G. to search for these terms of SEO.
If you have forgotten G. is a SE;)

Thanks a lot THUNDERELVI for the time you took for me :)

I'm thinking about 2 things :

1. So that would mean that a lot of backlinks building tool/technics would be a bad
thing, like :

- Social Bookmarking (with BMDemon, SocialBot, SocialMarker etc)
- Blog Commenting Softwares (if we post 30,50,100 times a day)
- Articles (if we submit too much)
- Forums (if we post too much)
- Directories..
- etc...

2. And something stay unclear : What about the "buzz" phenomenon ?

Let imagine for example the movie buzz for "Iron Man 2" on youtube. I'm talking about one single video :
This video will have a ton of views which come from youtube itself but also from forums, reviews, other videos websites, blogs etc etc etc !
So a ton of backlinks will be builded in a flash for this Youtube video url "Iron Man 2" !

Am I wrong ?

No you're not wrong! You should know that websites that are created and last for a short period of time don't get sandboxed, such as trend websites(based on Google Trends) or for e.x websites that are created with a major release that's "buming" the market, such a movie, song, book etc.
You can go and create a site about a movie that will come out soon, monetize it with affiliate program/CS/CPA or whatever you want and make a killing with it. Sites like this don't get sandboxed and G. gives priority to these, but only for a short time. So it's not long-term.

If you want to have a site, promote it whitehat and long-term, then do it and do NOT worry about getting sandboxed! Build links and update content daily! These are the 2 most IMPORTANT factors that google watches.
If you do these right you'll build trust and authority, which leads to G. ranking you! Also quality and relevant backlinks from high and reputative PR sites is another factor!
Also build a lot of links but do NOT go crazy:)
After about 3 months(if you happen to be sandboxed) you'll begin to rank for the keywords your site is optimized for!

If you want my opinion this sandbox thing is a myth and shit, since SE change algorithms frequently:rolleyes:
I was able to rank(not #1 but at top 20-30) for a website in 45-60 days with a new domain and site.
One alternative to avoid sandboxing is also buy an expired domain;)

PS: If you have any questions feel FREE to ask me!

Hope I helped you somehow!

Thanks a lot ;) I get it now !

In fact, I'm willing to outsource my backlinks buildind and now I know I have to it slowly, I will make it like that :

Instead of building 100's of BL for 1 videos in a few days, I will build 10-20 Backlinks a week for one video but multiple videos at the same time.

Like this, instead of getting a ton of backlinks for one single video in a week (which is aparently not good), I will get many backlinks for multiple videos after a month or 2 ;)

I just have to be patient, and the advantage is, if one videos is deleted, I can stop the backlinks building oustsourcing and focus on others.

As far as I know, videos don't give you BL at all and obviously not quality ones that rank you high for a specific keyword or boost your PR!
They are good for traffic only and if that traffic converts than you get $$$.
Convertion may be CPA offers filled, adsense clicked, products buyed, etc.
So if you have a killing product or CPA offer with a good optimized website, then promote your site by creating UNLIMITED(as much as you can) videos.
I don't know if G. penalizes you for this, but I've never had any penalty just because I had a lot of videos in Youtube promoting my website.

If you want quality BL then do all the following:
1. Social Bookmarking/Networking
2. Article Marketing
3. Press/Newspapers Releases
4. RSS Feeds
5. Blogs and website comments on relevant niches
6. Forum posts
7. PPC Advertising
8. Email Marketing
9. Intelligent Spamming;) (A Hint: Use Xrumer in a professional way)

I'm sure there are more ways, you have to find them yourself I gave you the good direction;) Read a few threads and e-books here to see what I mean. Welcome to Internet Marketing Brother!:D

Yes ! I think my English is bad so I didn't explain well :

I don't want to get BL FROM my videos but FOR my videos.
I know that videos websites don't give you BL ;)
but however thank you for your response !!!

Ok, sorry I misunderstood it. That's the right way to be done. Get BL for videos slowly and make sure they are of quality and relevant! I would say 50 BL/week are enough! Also if you have sites promoting your videos make sure you also have unique and informative content, not only videos unless it's a TV show/Movie site which doesn't need much words, only movie reviews and descriptions with good optimized keywords!:p

I don't even have to ask, I have answers ;)

BHW is decidedly a very cool place !

Thanks THUNDERELVI :)

even if you put up so many backlinks they all will get indexed at different times

i got obsessed with backlinking, and website submission, article linking, pr releases etc and recieved a penalty from google which ALL other search engines then followed.
i was using the keyword "bodybuilding routines" as my anchor link, i left it in the usual places, web2 sites, blogs,wp sites, social networks, etc.

i hit page 1 for bodybuilding routines, number 7 after roughly 3 weeks, then a month or so later, id vanished from google for that keyword and all the others.
my traffic was still finding me via google, but ONLY through image searches, web searches for my site has been taken away. (still the same now, was about 3months ago)

i tried to get into my webmasters account on google, only to find that google had taken the account away from me, i had to re-register the same email.
i still get 1,000 visits per day, but ALL find me via image only which to put it bluntly is a gutter!

That's an example of what happens when you build links quickly. You wanna rank in 3 weeks you can do it! But it's not long term. You should have been more careful with your speed building, especially if you find a GOLDEN niche. It's not that you can't repeat the same process with another site, but you'd waste your time and TIME=MONEY:D

Agree THUNDERELVI
lesson learnt, my backlinks are now built up slowly.
also quality over quantity, any day!

But I guess 3 weeks is too fast for this kind of golden niche like you say ?
Rassure me, 3 weeks is not too fast for a not very demanding niche, is it ?

(sorry for the term "not very demanding niche", I don't know how to say that... :
let's say, for a keyword with a medium traffic like 100-300 searches a day, a little
number of competitors, but with a good SEO value)

even if you put up so many backlinks they all will get indexed at different times

Yes ! I always thought about that, but Google could analyse your post, couldn't he ?

For example, if you post 100 comments the 1st January 2010, Google will index those comments/links at different times, ok.

But when you post a comment, the posting date appears so maybe he could analyse those posting dates ? and if he takes them in consideration, he could see that those 100 comments have been sent the 1st January 2010 and penalyse you, don't you think ?

I don't know, it is just a hypothesis, but I think it is really possible.

One variable not mentioned is that of link anchor text variety. I've had 2 sites boxed because I was focused to tightly on a select few link anchors.

You can build backlinks at an amazing rate and not get sandboxed, as long as you remember to vary the inbound link anchor text.

Otherwise, all you'd have to do to get the competition sandboxed would be post and inflate a Digg about one of their stories. Viral campaigns to not drive people into the sandbox. This should confirm the fact that pure numbers of IBL's in a short period of time are not inherently bad.

If, however, you drive a ton of links from free directories, FFA's, etc, thus a ton of crap quality IBL's, and you don't vary your link anchors, you're asking for a time out in the sand without any Baywatch babes.

I quite don't understand what you mean!
Yes if you want you can rank in 3 weeks and pretty well, but then when SE algorithms find your backlinking high speed process, you'll be sandboxed, dropped the ranking in SERP-s and sometimes get de-indexed for spamming.
That's why I said it's not long term.
Even with other niches 3 weeks is too fast to begin ranking I think.
Also choose medium niches with at least 5000-10000 searches/month.
Below than that it's not worthy it.
I don't know what you mean by "good SEO value"?
