Today I Found Out, Paypal IS A SUCKER!

PayPal to PayPal transaction would get full refund unless otherwise stated.

In India, you can only pay with a credit card. PP to PP transaction isn't possible afaik. I do have the card added to my pp account though.

Yea, they sent an email regarding this change not too long ago. Obviously they didn't spell out, that they will do this, they only said that there is a change in the TOS, what you can read here and here. If you agree to it, you don't have to do anything. Not everyone read those emails, let alone go to the link provided and actually read the changes. Which can be "fatal" and surprising at times as Gogol's example shows it pretty well. If you don't take action, they assume, you accepted the changes. They not only assume, but that's the general procedure. They send out an email about the changes providing a link, if you fail to let them know, that you don't agree to the changes, you automatically accept them, according to them.

Bam, thanks for the confirmation! F*ckin idiots.

If he is not high (his recent projects show that he is high most of the times ). :D
Still this is for 2.9% fee, which is way lower than the $18 you are missing. Please check your PayPal account transactions and see where the missing money are. The fees are visible there..

Contact PayPal.
I had situation with refund and PayPal returned the $20 fee.

They must have, otherwise they won't deduct money from my refund sum. I totally trust the bank I use (ICICI India). They won't ever do this kind of crap with me. It gotta be paypal for sure.

Are you sure mate? Something like this happened to me, but turned out that money getting refunded also levies currency conversion charges, when sending you loose around 2.5% or more and while receiving you also loose 2.5% or more.

Well, let me try that for once n for all. :)

Hmm gotta recheck then. Something must be wrong if the fee is 2.9%. Thanks for the heads up!

Yeah no way they just took $18 out of a $97 transaction for themselves, either the recipient didn't refund the whole amount or there's some other explanation, seriously use common sense, you guys act like paypal is out there robbing everyone blind, people aren't stupid, if paypal was really so horrible it wouldn't be one of the most popular payment processors around.

Payoneer is amazing.

Someone paid me $485 with Payoneer, and they didn't take any fees.
Paypal would have easily charged around $40.

Paypal is a real sucker! But everyone wants the "buyer protection" so you can't ask the buyers to pay with any other payment method.

They block 2 accounts of mine without a specific reason in the last 3 months; not even 1 FF payment, all clean manual payments and so on, I just give up using them. If my customers want to pay by transferwise good, if not adios amigos.

I hope people will change to normal payments in the near future and this shitty company will burn out.

Okay here's an update. The sum is more like $16 than $18. When I purchased the subscription, I chose my bank to do the conversion. Which resulted in 3-4$ markup fees plus the commission that the bank took for currency conversion. When paypal "refunded" the money, because they chose to take their cut; they could not reverse the original transaction (that way, I get back exactly what I paid). Instead they took their cut, converted the rest of the sum to inr (again, they took their commission in that as well); and paid to my bank.

This is ugly. Thanks PayPal! I will never use you again.

Thanks for confirming, it happened to me last year in feb. Glad to know that they are not blindly stealing from people who pays using credit card.

I gave up in using Paypal after my account is blocked for no real reason, payments being held etc, it is unfortunate cause the concept of Paypal is cool. Hopefully some good alternative will beat them one day and we won't have to deal with their crap anymore.

Gogol I like your signature A LOT. Yes, Paypal SUCKS badass...

PayPal is TERRIBLE.
Constantly holding money, limiting accounts, charging excess fees, and overall just creating headaches.

Stripe is great.
I like Venmo a ton for peer to peer payments.
