So, I have been saying good things about Paypal for a long time. I made this thread to warn you guys about a sneaky scam that paypal has started (and this makes me very sad). So, this is regarding a refund. I mistakenly bought premium account instead of Jr. VIP from BHW a few days ago. The staff was kind enough to refund me the FULL money.
Now, after a few days, when I checked my account statement; I was shocked to find out that paypal deducted money from that reversed transaction! For a $97 transaction, they deducted $18 before sending the money to my CC account, which is a PURE SCAM IMHO (Refund means a refund... not like.. lemme take some money off you sucker!). Luckily this is only $18, but it could be $200 easy; if the transaction was of a higher value.

I would have disputed this transaction if this was not BHW. I don't want the admins to be in a hassle for this. So, I will be accepting the loss and move on.

Be warned! Ditch Gaypal!!

Yea they charge ridiculous amount of money on transactions, it's not scam btw but it is very annoying

Possible GST removal?
GST has to be refunded if the original transaction is refunded. Everyone does that including Amazon. :)
Ask a refund to Paypal :D
Haha, I would rather bang my head against the wall. :p

Just to be clear, IT IS a SCAM! You can't make money off a reversed transaction like that. If I told this to my CC company, they would refund me the whole sum; but then; both BHW's and my paypal account will be having issues after that. So, I wouldn't bother doing so.

Paypal is absolute trash. I enjoy Payoneer & Stripe honestly. I recently migrated over to Payoneer and I haven't had a weird problem, yet. The fees are less too.

Yeah man, I should have gone with the stripe option. Lesson learned. :(

We ALL make the Paypal mistake, my friend. Store that lesson in your brain and use Stripe/Payoneer. Both are superior to paypal.

Also, for invoicing clients, try Freshbooks.

Yeah they used to refund (fees and all) now fees are taken into account.

Another reason to say fuck you paypal and go back to wires or forward to crypto

I found out that whole organisation (Paypal) is full of assholes in 2014.

Wait what? I dealt with some refunds before (being refunded or refunding others) ... so PayPal is keeping fees now? WTF?

Yup you heard it right. It's not everyday that I get a transaction reversed. That is why I did not notice this crap before today lol.

I have forgotten that they implemented this but I made a refund last Friday and saw that the transaction fee was still deducted... Like the fees aren't high enough already...

What will happen now is, that they will lose a valid business opportunity (like it matters to them lmao). I am gonna launch a SAaS platform very soon, but I will not consider paypal as my payment solution anymore. I don't want these kind of shady practices to happen to my would be customers. I will speak to another gateway which hs transparent policies. Take that, suckers!

How long does Payoneer take to approve?

PayPal tried doing something like this to me except I called my bank and they reversed it for me.

Thanks for good info. Indeed Payoneer is King. Since last 5 years i have no problem with Payoneer.

I did something similar few months ago (double paid for jrVIP), but got my full amount from PayPal. It seems that they change their conditions for refunds.
They must have, otherwise they won't deduct money from my refund sum. I totally trust the bank I use (ICICI India). They won't ever do this kind of crap with me. It gotta be paypal for sure.
