What actually works on Instagram

In my experience, I have 5 accounts u/f only no posting and 2 accounts posting 5x per week. my 2 accounts are now at 5k followers in 2 months, while my 5 accounts are still 2.5-3k followers. I think you're on to something.

Your (and i say again) " singing their praises" comment is total garbage to someone who is suffering the consequence of instagrams staffs inconsiderate actions. And i am telling it like it is. It appears to me you have not done your research. If you did you would see on Sitejabber reviews, search engines and other sites that Instagram is the worst social media when it comes to their service -Twitter coming a close second.

Hey man, see, I have no investment in any social media channel. When you say they're data hungry and their staff does things for which they should be put in jail, I totally agree with you. Let's calm down, I am sorry for your loss. As I say, I'm not here to do research on IG and sell IG services. That's not my point, I'll never do that. Neither do I preach IG to other people and sing the praises of IG.

This post was not "Why you should use IG". This post was also not "If you are a model poster, you will not get banned by IG staff".

This post was for people who are already using IG and have not been banned due to the criminal practices of IG staff for which they'll burn in hell for sure. This post was simply about the fact that "I figured out, over a month, and I'm no expert with years of experience in it, that if you post consistently on your page, your follower count will steadily rise. In comparison to the fact that if you do not post consistently, your follower count will start to reduce." I merely wanted to share what I found.

As simple as that. When IG staff ban an account, my post doesn't apply there. My post also might not apply to all IG users in general.

I was running a business page. The DP was a logo I made for my page itself. What I did was download images from other artists from Dribbble, Behance, and other sources. I wrote the caption as follows: [art name] by [artist name] [IG username of artist, if available]. Then I added a few hashtags. And the entire point I'm making with my post is that when I posted consistently, my follower count kept increasing. If I posted without consistency, it decreased. That's all, mate. That's all.

I'm just sharing what I believe can help other people. IG staff are criminals and should burn in hell, but that doesn't invalidate the points I make. And I'm not here to do research, so don't you tell me I'm short on my research. I do my research where it's necessary and where I work very hard to make money, so you better not question my ability to do the same.

I see. Well if you think about it, it seems pretty natural that they would reward consistency over lapses in posting. It sort of makes a consistent account look stable, as compared to an account that has frequent lapses in its posting cycle.

I understand , it just your first post kinda ruffled my feathers because of the recent issue i have with Instagram. I appreciate the fact you have cleared things up and that you are one of the lucky ones.

My posts were constant ( 3 times a day) - as i was always creating new art and i had lost my Twitter account( due to it being hacked ) . Twitter was my biggest pleasure .After i lost my account, i could not quite find a replacement . Instagram was the nearest best thing.

I'm currently shying away from creating another account because Instagram staff are nothing but a bunch of bi-polar insensitive wolves.I am in search of other platform that has the same set up - in terms of active users . I do not know how you have master your way in not having your account deactivated because if someone such as myself have ensured i have kept within the guidelines and adhere to the policies , but yet managed to still get banned, you must be sprinkled with gold dust

What do you mean? You do understand that IG has over 1 billion active users per month, and that number has been steadily rising since the past few years, right? It's not like when you sign up on IG, there's a 50-50 chance that you'll get deactivated.

I was running a business page too. Your question is a bit unclear ... Do you mean you should post when Instagram says your followers are most active? Well, that makes a lot of sense. But in this thread, I've only outlined what I saw. This was a business account in the graphic design niche. My engagement was made up for even if I posted at wild times that made no sense. When you post when your followers are most active, you'll earn a lot of engagement right away. Also, as reported once somewhere, about 70-90% of the lifetime engagement a post has is received within the first 5-10 minutes of posting. But somehow, IG compensated me later and I was left with the same ratios.

I talked to a girl working on Facebook and she told me, any time is good time to post on IG, everyone is using it 24/7.

If you are going to post using instagram statistics, be shure to post at the beginning of the "most active users hours". so you will ride the wave for longer, instead of posting at the top hour.

I never did anything wrong on my account - my page was a photomanipulated art and i asked permission to repost or from the original source, but yet my account was deactivated without warning or reasoning. If i were you i would find another means to post any work because even if you are doing everything right, the chances are you will get banned for something or another. It is like working on eggshells , you can never really be comfortable.

You should have sent the photo, or done some research to check the validity of this, rather than freaking out. This is totally normal for them to request this and by you not following their instructions, that's why they disabled your account.

Hashtag, never delete photo until two days after post. Never edit caption until two days after post

You just need to connect with audience. That is main thing. Never try to cheat algo, just post good picture like normal and ppls will come

Incorrect... They disabled my account prior to requesting my photo. I am not about to send my picture when i do not know what i have done wrongand do some research to check the validity of this. Get the hell outta here!

Instagram is well known to fabricate stories or make it out like someone has done something wrong in order to get their personal information. It would have been easier for them to advise me what i did wrong , so that i can put it right. What is the logic of sending a photo and reason for the deactivation still presents itself ? then i am continously in the vicious circle again?

Thinking back now It is all a set up andi am glad i did not present my photo to them.Moving forward, I could not continue to run my page with full confidence just waiting for their next bi-polar episode

wow.. i have been in touch with some "insta marketers" who didnt know this much. i guess some people just wanna bank on others even if they dont have the skills.. i'm better off doing my insta on my own. thanks for the insights!

very informative post. definitely this is stuff that most people can only learn by practice. i've also had a similar experience in running my instagram pages where i mostly promoted my own services in one way or the other. dimensions, which colors you use, captions you go for all matter very less as compared to keeping your postings original (or with proper attribution/credits), high quality (must provide some value to its intended audience) and most importantly, consistent. even if you have great content but you take unpredictable breaks from posting on your page, the IG algo can decrease the value of your page in terms of its visibility to new people - and thus your engagement will stagnate which is very bad. i guess it equally applies to personal pages as well, not just business but yeah there are differences between the two for sure.
