4 years ago i got back to college to become a full-stack developer

And here i am BHW community, chasing my dream of making money online, and to be honest back then i felt like only real developers can make it, so here i'm, after taking the hard way, here is what i'm competent at: Angular for the front-end, java 8 for the backend, NoSQL for the data base.

Those technologies are used the most by compagnies, i don't see them used anywhere when it comes to small businesses, should i swipe to Php and react again...will it take me that long to get used to them ? i've come so far i'm losing my breath...

you don't need a college to be developer , actually college for this purpose is time wasting , start with one language only like C# , python ....etc , once feel good in that language learn new things ... good luck .

We are in the same boat dude. I also graduated programming, but here I am chasing the IM dream for substantial money flow in my own hands, not by working for a boss. But regarding your question, there should be tons of java jobs out there if you like coding in it. PHP however seems to have more job opportunities atleast in my country.

As a webdeveloper Expert in php/mysql , i found out that the php is the most used for web developement but you need to learn very well the oop concept then start learning a famous php framework like Laravel, zend, symphony those are the most requested frameworks by the world companys, for the mobile developement is also good but its need to be in adition after leaning web devlopement,

that's the thing, there are plenty of java jobs and angular, i already have a 9-5 job, yet i don't see those technologies in demand when it comes to freelancing.

Because java and php are as ancient as the companies that use them.

Java is an explicit language, scalable, harder to learn and more mature than most languages in the martket, most small businesses are using monolithic architecture for their web apps cause they are easier to get it done whether for small budgets or short time span, so it all makes sense.

I dont think you even need a degree at all.
I also believe most companies dint even look at your degree on upwork.

They only look at how many succeed jobs you had, earned, rating etc..

Found few freelancer dint have degree or diploma in computer.
Just diploma in music lol..

Yes, it's old.

"Explicit" just means longer development time. "Scalable" is only relevant when you need to scale, and is often less about the language and more about how you use it. "Harder to learn" because it's fragmented as fuck.

Good luck finding a freelancer that chooses to use Java when it isn't their only option.

Use whatever you want. Just make sure you understand the difference between chasing money and chasing unnecessary performance.
