Blackhat Mailing for Harvested Lists
I've been getting a lot of requests to mail harvested lists and in order to provide better service to the BHW community, I am expanding to include non opt-in email lists which may have been harvested from craigslist or search engines.

The base CPM rate for mailing to harvested lists will be: $1.65

Can I just send you a list of emails?
YES. A list of emails in plain text, one email per line is fine. With this new update there are no restrictions on the source of your email list, but you assume full responsibility for any laws you may be violating!

Why does it cost more?
Mailing non opt-in data means that we burn thru IPs a lot faster. It costs me more. I use a combination of dedicated servers and private proxies to send to non opt-in lists. It's usually a one-shot deal because they IPs get blacklisted very quickly.

What about "Inbox Rate"?
I get a lot of PMs asking me about Inbox Rate. You need to understand that any kind of bulk email is going to be filtered agressively. You can mail through GMAIL accounts but your volume is going to be limited due to slow send speeds. If your email message is poorly written, it is going to hit the junk folder or be blocked 100%.

My sends have a high delivery rate on clean lists...that means - for GI (general internet) it can be as high as 95%. With big 3 it ranges between 80-90% BUT if your email is spammy, or is a copy of a template that has been used before, you will not even hit the spam folder!

If you ask, I can provide feedback on your email before sending it and make recommendations.

What if I don't get any sales?
I am only providing you with the mailing service. Please remember that I do not claim or guarantee that you will make any sales - it is YOUR responsibility to make sure your email is well-written and that you have a killer landing page that converts. Keep in mind that you will see better results from consistent mailings each week rather than one-time blasts.

CPM = cost per 1000 sent, so 50K is 50 * 1.00 = $50 for an opt-in list or 50 * 1.65 = $82.50 for a non opt-in list.

Email Campaign Stats

I'm sure a lot of you read this thread and wonder the same thing: will I see a return on the money I invest into the emailing service? I've been handling email campaigns for a lot of BHW'ers and here are the stats I have compiled based on their results. These are REAL numbers. I'm not pulling these out of my ass, and I'm not padding them to mislead anyone.

Please keep in mind that these stats are just to give you an idea what to expect, so you can decide if your offer will make you ROI.

Click Through Rate (CTR)

The click through rate lets you quickly determine how many visitors to expect based on mailing a list of a given size. If you mail a list of 50K, you can expect to receive a little over 250 unique visitors on average. Depending on the quality of your email message and your list, the CTR can be higher or lower. I'll be happy to provide advice on things you can do to improve your CTR.

High: 1.74%
Average: 0.53%
Low: 0.01%

Conversion Rate

When you assess the cost of a professional email campaign, you may be tempted to correlate your PPC results with the email results. Email campaigns typically yield much higher conversion rates per click because you have a captive, interested audience. Conversion rate will be affected by the quality of your landing page, so if you typically get 1% conversions on your page with PPC traffic, it is unrealistic to expect 10% conversions just because you use email.

Note: This data was voluntarily reported to me by my clients who were tracking their email campaign with me.

High: 12.84%
Average: 5.33%
Low: 2.71%

ROI Potential

If you mail a targeted opt-in list of 50,000 and have a 0.53% CTR, you will receive about 265 unique visitors which can translate into 30+ sales. Assuming you only make $10 per sale, that is up $300 minus the $50 cost to send the email. You end up with a 600% ROI. If you ever wondered why there is so much spam on the internet, your answer is right there.

I just used a different solution and tested it to 6000 from the list I sent you. They converted slightly better than the 50K that were mailed to through your service.

I wouldn't dare badmouth your service, because I'm sure you do a good job a lot of the time, but it seemed like there was a problem with my mailing. Tracked hops were low, and no sales were made. That's uncharacteristic of the list, given its nature.

I'd ideally like to give it another go, but I'm pretty gunshy about spending money on it again, after losing money on it the first time.

There are a lot of variables that can affect the performance of your campaign. I just make sure that as many of the emails sent get through to the destination, once they're there it's really up to the email content to drive any further action.

I logged well over 260 unique clicks, most within a 24 hour period, for your campaign which was decent performance (effective CTR near 0.60%) - if you got zero conversions out of those then it would seem that some tweaking is required on your end. Your email seemed to be ok, since it had such a high CTR. I don't know what you are using to track on your end, but my end is 100% accurate - it has to be because I use it for my own mailings.

In order to be successful at any kind of advertising you're going to have to go through a trial and error phase. Even if you were running AdWords, you may burn through a few hundred to a few thousand dollars before you are able to tune the campaign to something that drives sufficient traffic and produces decent conversions...fortunately my service is nowhere near that expensive so you can affordably iron out the kinks with smaller sends and then scale it up when you find something that works.

I'm no stranger to email marketing. Those leads have been mailed to steadily before. I know them pretty well.

The other portion of my list converted really well with that same offer and same creative. Leads were from the same site and form, and they have converted similarly on other offers.

However, the CPA of the other service was much higher, which is why I definitely wanted to try you out.

It totally could have been a fluke. I might be contacting you again soon for another mailing. We'll try a different list. See if that helps, eh?

New Options and Pricing Effective Now

I have made some changes to help make ordering my services easier. The pricing has also been revised, and the requirement to provide and opt-in list has been removed but it is still highly recommended.

Email Volume - 25K minimum / 400K maximum
I do not accept orders below 25K or above 400K but there is some flexibility. The new pricing structure is volume-based, so you can purchase any volume level you want and send fewer emails. Example: You only want to send 10K, you could buy 25K volume and send 10K, leaving you with 15K to send at another time.

Inbox Rate
My IPs are whitelisted with many popular ISPs so your email gets delivered to the inbox as long as the message itself is well-written. A typical inbox rate can be up to 90% or more. Keep in mind that it is up to you to provide a fresh email template creative and a quality list. If either of those are lacking you won't get a good response.

Email List
For best response your email list should be "opt in" GI (general internet), but I will accept just about any list. The more targeted your list, the better the results will be for you. The list format should be plain text, with one email address per line.

I do not email to @craigslist so don't ask!

Bounced Emails
With any list, a percentage of them will bounce as being undeliverable. I will resend bounced emails for you at no extra charge. For example, if 10K bounce then I wills send 10K more for free. I will do a free resend ONCE per order.

Pricing - Exclusively for BHW
These are the current prices and they are now VOLUME based and not LIST SIZE based - the older prices are no longer available. The new pricing method gives you more flexibility on the volume of email you send.

25,000 to 49,999 - $1.65 CPM
50,000 to 99,999 - $1.55 CPM
100,000 to 149,999 - $1.45 CPM
150,000 to 199,999 - $1.35 CPM
200,000 to 249,999 - $1.30 CPM
250,000 to 299,999 - $1.25 CPM
300,000 to 349,999 - $1.15 CPM
350,000 to 400,000 - $1.05 CPM

Volume Based Pricing
The new volume-based pricing gives you the flexibility to purchase a level of service based on the volume you need and NOT your list size. Let's say your list is only 100K, but you want to email it once per week for a month. Rather than paying for 100K volume 4 times at $1.45 CPM, you would purchase 400K volume at $1.05 CPM once saving you 28%.

You may purchase any volume level and send as few emails as you want, or as many as you want up to the volume you paid for.

Optional Add-on Service Pricing
The options below add to the base CPM rate for mailing a list of a given size. If you want any of these options, your CPM rate will increase according to the price listed below.

Data Inserts (i.e. Dear [first_name],): +$0.20 CPM
HTML Email Format: +$0.10 CPM
Custom Email Headers: +$0.10 CPM per header
Subject Line Rotation: +$0.10 CPM
From Line Rotation: +$0.10 CPM
Randomized Reply-To Email: +$0.25 CPM

How to Get Started
If you want to use my services to send email, this is what you need to do. READ THIS, because I get a lot of PMs that ask questions answered in this thread.

This is the overall process:

1) Send your list
You send me your email list in plain text format, one email per line, as a ZIP file. If you are doing data inserts, the only acceptable format is plain text CSV: email_address,first_name,last_name Last name is optional.

2) Send Email Creative
You also send me the Email Creative, Subject Line(s), From Name(s), Reply-To Email, Usubscribe URL, Unsubscribe Postal Address (most CPA Networks provide these)

3) Send Payment
Calculate your payment by totaling your effective CPM rate, including any options you want, and choosing a volume level. You can pick any number from 25K to 400K as a volume level and use the chart above to find your base CPM rate. Your list size must be less than or equal to the volume you choose.

4) Your Email is Sent
Once your payment is received by paypal, I will send your email. Within 24-48 hours I will provide you with delivery stats which includes bounces.

Payments
Payments are made by paypal in full and once the campaign starts, payments are not refundable. The only times a refund would be considered is if I stop your campaign before sending all messages due to high spam complaints or if I am unable to mail your campaign. Luckily neither has happened yet.
