(METHOD) Ranking Pins on Pinterest

Hey William!
Few people claim that Group Boards aren't effective anymore and it's not worthto build the Pinterest Traffic Strategy around them anymore.

What are your thoughts about that?

There is a VAST difference between Group Boards YOU own and manage responsibly, and Group Board "exchanges" that are predominently spamming vehicles.

Own it and manage it responsibly, and that is a great strategy for driving traffic....Group Boards that allow ANYONE to Pin ANYTHING is not a smart strategy....choose your route?.

Did you experience any decrease of traffic from the group boards in the last few weeks/months?
I planned to try the 4 accs * 1 pin/day * 90 group boards strategy myself, but now I'm concerned that it's not worth my time anymore. They said that pins that got pinned on group boards don't get as much engagement as they were used to get few weeks/months ago and that thhose pins are not getting found from people that are not in those group boards?

I get plenty of traffic and sales which is a bonus as the activity I do is primarily for SEO purposes and brand awareness. Only you will be able to decide if its worth your time and the only way you will know that is if you give it a try. If you are concerned then don't, it's that simple :) Nothing will happen overnight and Pinterest is 100% the long game so lots of people get discouraged before they hit a winning formula.

I could not agree more, and this is 100% the reason why I dont trade boards here or sell them.

I get what you say, but I was talking about 90 already established niche related group boards with contributers around 100-1000? That pinning in your mentioned type of boards is useless is 100% clear, but what about the type of group boards I wanna use?

Creating 90 boards by myself and managing them is a pain the ass I definitely wanna avoid. :)

Yeah trying to grow group boards with the invite limits is a real pain so it's best to go after already established ones.

I just created an account on Pinterest, thanks for sharing :)

My pleasure, good luck!

I think, nowadays, you have to use group boards more as a way to keep activity going for your pins, instead of exposure. What you don't want to do is to pin/repin to a handful of boards over and over again. So the more boards available to you, the better. With 90 boards, assuming they're the same niche, spread out the pinning over a week or two. Then adjust from there.

Thanks for the wonderful share William, I've created myself an account and trying to apply what you thought here.

My newbie question is how do you find the latest or viral's pins to pin ?

In most cases when you do a search it will return with the most popular stuff. My advice would be to use those pins to quickly create boards and build up profiles.

Thanks William,

Yeah im in the process of building up profiles first.
Later i will try to join other board. So if my understanding is correct, we should pin the most to other board and pin it back to our board right?

I'm not sure I understand the question, sorry

What i meant was..

our content(pins) ---> other group board

their content(pins) ---> our group board

Your content to other group boards is the strategy here. If you have group boards of your own use them, but most people do not have viable ones so they join others. It really does not matter who's board it is. All you need to do is make sure you are doing it on scale. Posting to one or two boards wont help, you need to be posting to dozens.

Do you need to have lots of boards to begin with ? Since the majority of the Pinners are female, I guess the main strategies are to have say 10 different boards with 10 different contents to start off with ?

This is to kick-start your account and create fresh starter content and fill with images.

A question, I read somewhere about the Vertical Images used for the pinning. There are some dimension that are more suitable for viewing on both desktop and mobile ? I forgot what dimension is more suitable. Any thoughts on this ?

Thanks in advance.

I was confused by your original post. Are you trying to rank for hashtag searches or for regular keyword searches. Because when you search on pinterest for a #hashtag, the results show all the most recent pins for that hashtag only based on time it was last pinned. So trying to rank for a specific hashtag search wouldn't really matter. But you were saying that you are adding hashtags to your pins to get them ranked so I am confused.

Also, when you say that you pin your pin over and over again, does that mean you start with one new fresh pin and then every pin you schedule after that is a re-pin of the original? Or is it that when you are scheduling 90 pins per day, every single pin is a fresh new pin? I was reading on Tailwind and it says "when you schedule a "Repin" from Pinterest through Tailwind, it will be published as a new original website Pin from the website." So doesn't this mean it's not possible to re-pin the same pin over and over again when using Tailwind?

Thanks William, it made sense to me now ;-)

My pleasure.

Yes that's correct, it's good to have an established profile before getting started. as for pin size I dont worry about details like that I just pin in large numbers.

@William702 is a cpa content locker good a ideas in pinterest ?

I'm not familiar with those so I am the wrong person to ask.

Well maybe that is a new algo or old algo. I generally dont go off of what I see written. I go off of the results I see after taking action. I am basing my findings off of my experiences and the results I see. There are a lot of people confused by Pinterest me included, so join the club lol.

I dont repin things, as I have said I make the pin using tailwind and let it to it's thing. I select multiple group boards, the pin is created several times across them all. The pin and URL are all the same but the destination is not. every pin is a new pin. I'm not repining the same pin over and over again, I am pinning the same pin over and over again.

Is there any bot that can help with ranking on Pinterest?

I personally use the tailwind app but that is just used as a scheduling tool. I dont know of any other apps or bots so I can't recommend them.
