Can i keep emails collected in wrong way (mailchimp) ?

Hello,

I'm using Mailchimp to gather my subscribers list. That been said, i put a certain pop up form where users can enter their email addresses in order to download a free eBook.

However i used this method to create a list of subscribers to send my newsletters to, i gathered around 10 emails. But i found out at a later time that if i don't mention anywhere as a notice in the form that people who give their emails will be receiving newsletter that will be against the rules and terms of use of Mailchimp.

So now i put the notice as i should, but i don't want to loose the old emails i gathered, if i keep them and they will eventualy be merged with the new future emails i'll be collecting, will i be blacklisted or suspended because of just of those 10 emails that i collected in the wrong way ?

You mean 10k emails, I guess?
No problem if they are recent.
Just make sure you give them the option to unsubscribe.

Its nothing about to worry.
Subscription Pop-up form is designed by Mailchimp; and you can not anything with that.
And after subscription, Mailchimp will show a Subscription-confirmation to the subscribers.
And when you send emails to your subscribers, always put an UNSUBSCRIBE option under your email.

After i spoke to them they told me that single opt-in is not mandatory, but i'll have to put a notice to inform the user that he will be subscribing and to have the unsubscribe button as you mentionned before !

I also have a similar case with a chat (support) program that collects emails of connected users on my site, for examples if they are connected with their gmail or through browser or they write their email in the chat the app automaticly catches the email and sends it to my mailchimp.

So that's another list aside from the one i mentionned in the previous post, keeping this will it cause me troubles ? (it has 10 emails also)

I think you can totally keep those. You'll have no problems with that, especially if they are recent.

Are you talking about keeping my second ebook list that i collect the emails without the conscent of the users ? can i realy keep those ?
