hosting is a niche, and there are plenty of more famous hosting companies like hostgator/godaddy. I have tried referring to where I host, but people don't seem to be interested. A few years ago, someone was offering pre-installed game servers like for game emulators or game hosts, even for voip. But voice servers are dead, because of discord.

Perhaps the key, is to offer something which cannot be had from oversold servers.

How do you find hosting affiliate programs on the internet? Do you use directories, forums or just plain google search?

Plain Google searches work well, however forums like this and Facebook groups can be helpful to as there are some affiliate offers who are limited to only a few people. I think Ahrefs does that too.
