Wordpress or Blogger, which should I choose?

I am planning to start a new blog but I am stuck on deciding whether to use wordpress or blogger. I am fairly experienced with wordpress but Blogger has one big advantage...Hosting!

I was wondering if it is liable to use blogger for a serious blog. Are there any disadvantaged with using blogger? I thought themes would be a problem but I found some really good themes that rival top wordpress themes. I want to know if there is any particular reason why persons stay away from blogger.

Yes. You limited control. Its impossible to implement advanced functionality and design and features in blogger.

Thanks for your reply but that's very vague, all I need to do is the write post, place ads and do seo. Name 1 advance feature that I would be missing with blogger...

You have no control with Blogger, if you use it then make sure you back up every post. That way if they delete your blog you can get back on WP.

If you are just running a basic blog then Blogger shouldn't be a problem but if you want to monetize with anything other than adsense then you might have problems.

blogspit only a 100 blogs allowed and WordPress is self installed unlimited use.

WordPress is usually chosen .

but for split testing blogspot good
...

blogspot also limited to use of there tos.

Do they have a problem with every affiliate program? I know I can't use it for amazon but things like hosting affiliate programs would be a problem as well?

Most blogs have a homepage or landing page rather than a feed of posts in reverse-chronological order. Blogger can't do this, if I remember right.
Blogger owns your blog.
Blogger has 0 plugins and no ability to support them.
No ability to do advanced page structure, url structure, redirects, etc.

After doing some research, I've decided to start with Blogger and switch to wp when I make a profit

blogger is good option .. go for it.... i had used both as a self hosted blog but somtimes wordpress has deleted my account...so i prefer blogger ..go for it ..its best.

Both ones have their advantage if you like to participate in programs like AdSense you can go with blogger. Wordpress is very easy to use but you cant participate in any affiliate programs unless you have upgraded it.

For blogging platform, the "Self Hosted Wordpress" is better than blogspot and wordpress.com, because it allows you to customize and control of your own website, lots of great plugins and seo friendly CMS

wp is best one bcz it is so easy and u can also use multiple tags on it.tags are useful in seo instead of label
