I have had my fulfill of sending views and social signals aprox 40-50k for 40-50k real views while hitting suggested at the creators and videos I was targeting. In doing so I have always choose to send high retention views which claim to allow watch time 70-90% of a 10 min video or longer. Is there any reason to send lower retention views as a means of just boosting higher views, or should I stick to having high retention for I guess ranking?

I will be using the same method for a different channel as I got bored of making those videos because I was just doing it for the views not enjoying it. The topic was news so think hot topics but controversial so out of a handful of videos I believe 3 or 4 got demonetized with the new update.

What are your thoughts on the low vs high retention?

Stick to high retention.

Back in 2012 Youtube's Ranking factors were the views as well, thats one of the reason why you don't see all these old videos with millions of views in the "suggested videos" anymore. Youtube completely dropped "views" as a ranking factor and focuses now on "retention" and "interraction" the most. So buying Low Retention views isn't gonna help you get a better, it will only increase the views count.

I do not see any reasons why you would want to head to low retention views they will have less watch time ratio which will send information to youtube that your videos is not liked much by users which would result in more negative towards you.

High retention views also don't work anymore

I did a bit of research on my niche videos, the first ones who stays on the first page, has A LOT of engagements, ( likes, dislikes, shares, comments)
The virst video has 850+ views second 80+, engagements on 2nd video are lower than on the first one, but also A LOT of them too

they are cheeper .. thats the only reason but they don't work. so stay away ;)

I think i gonna do a test, upload a video send him 2k hr views,
upload another video send him 10 likes 10 comments, and the last video set empty,
gonna see whats ranks better.

ok got it. I for the majority was sending supposed 70-90% hr views and along with about 50-100 likes for 1-5k views. Also I sent prob 10 custom comments that would get traction by either using inside memes or controversial things (ex. if there was a story where someone was a complete douche I would have a custom comment saying how great they were to bait more comments)

this is a very interesting topic, i can donate the traffic if you set up an A/B split test

I believe a poster above is going to run an a/b test so he may need some views?. I believe the reason why my videos gained so much traction was because I was actively targeting peoples channels and specific videos with the tagging system. I would find the most relevant tag of the person who I did a news story about and would take their fastest view per hour video and copy all the tags so I had a huge chance of hitting recommended under that video. My videos specifically had to do about the other channel or person so the content matched and the people were happy. These videos took 4-7 hours to research, shoot, and edit, but people were loving them but I stopped because I didn't want to report on other people and rather work on myself.

Im going to replicate the process but this time it will be harder to get in recommended I believe unless say I copied a whole idea or bit. (Ex. MY ROOMATE GOT SHOT PRANK.) <------ If I wanted to piggy back off of other people I would have to actively target the audience so say Logan Paul or Jake Paul people who make pranks and copy their tags from the most viewed per hour and most relevant to the video I make which would have to be relevant to
(ex. MY ROOMATE GOT SHOT PRANK)

Only thing is I have my own "viral ideas" that would turn out great but the audience would be small because they are original ideas and I don't have anything to piggy back off except pranks as a whole. Maybe i'll have to copy some of the people I target bits and ideas until I take some of their audience and use it to gain traction on my original ideas

Stick to the High Retention views. If you buy low retention your video's rank is going to get down so i suggest you to stick to the high retention service.

I wonder if someone could buy low retention views to mess with my ranking videos...What does everyone here think?

that is a nice idea to play with, my guess it's doable since as long as you can rank you can also de-rank, i think that will need long campaign with no sudden boost

Well Youtube isnt that stupid to figure things but yeah it could have a bit impact on your rankings but not for long. After a while those views will be removed besides I never tried so cannot justify the answer just my predictions.

I think high retention views is the best method at the moment. Youtube changed their own way to ranking video
