Hey guys I am trying to make a difficult decision. I have about 1000 to invest into either YouTube, or other revenue streams, probably CPA. I have a pretty unique idea for YouTube and it is something that is not being done at this time. I would have to buy a better camera, some props, and video editing software and It would cost around $1000. For this amount of money, would you guys recommend I do something else? I am not in a rush for money, but would like to see profit within 6-8 months. I know a little bit about CPA, but am no expert. Feel free to leave any input, thanks everyone!

Why not look further to develop your idea, maybe do a JV with someone?

The YouTube Idea? I don't need help with it, I have been planning that for a while. I just want to make sure my money wouldn't be better off spent elsewhere.

Not just a case of needing help, what about needing extra funds to launch it ? If you've only got $1k spare and the equipment will cost that, it doesn't leave you much working capital mate.

"it is something that is not being done at this time" = I have bolded the main point here. What's to say someone else might not have the similar idea and launch it first ?

Yes you could jump into CPA, PPC and try to double up your money quickly.

I never spend any money on "editing software", nor have I edited anything more than cutting/pasting sequences.

0.7 million in revenue for amazon its prove enough you dont have to.

and I make my first 30k income from amazon via a simple 200$ ixus.

I could jump into CPA. However I don't have as much skills in CPA as I would need to succeed. I have more money to use, but there's no way I would let someone know my idea before I launch it. It took a lot of planning, and there were some obstacles to overcome.

That's awesome, I feel these days the videos need to be very catch to keep attention of the viewers or they will click on the next video lol. I think it will also help on the thumbnails. Congratulations on your success, it's good to hear that.

I wouldn't drop $1,000 on YouTube, especially right now. Check around, YouTube is not only taking away monetization but also disabling accounts that they do not deem "okay for advertisers." They determine who monetizes on their website. Investing ALL your chips into something controlled by someone else isn't a good move, IMO. YouTube can be a MONEY MINE but can also crush your heart when you get emails regarding monetization being disabled. They can cut you off at any moment. Do that on the side (It can bring in a NICE profit if you have a game plan) but also have something that nobody can take away from you just because they feel like it. I'd rather have $10 in my pocket than a "I'll give you $20 if I agree with you."

Thanks for the input, 1000 isn't all my chips I could still invest a little bit into other online endeavors. I don't think my topic would be a problem for advertisers. I also really enjoy CPA, it intrigues me and I love reading and learning new information about it everyday I am just trying to get something going. I don't need immediate income, but would like to start seeing profit within 3-4 months.

Why wait to profit in 6 to 8 months? You can make back that money in a month if you know what you doing. I am making on average $5000 per month for some of my channels.

I would be going for sites that you can rank as opposed to YT myself but I don't have a strong background in YT.

Go with your skill set as that is probably your best bet and I know it would be mine.

I look at is:

1) What do I know?
2) Is learning a new skill more important than generating revenue?
2a) I will probably lose money with a new aspect of IM before you learn how to make it work.
3) Are there other options I am leaving out?
4) If I go with the new aspect and lose all the money is that OK?

I REALLY recommend you to launch a viral site instead and it doesnt even come close to cost $1000 so you should still be able to do your youtube project on the side. Use http://madeitviral.com to get started safe and sound, and then just follow the steps one by one.

That's what i did, and now i made $3000 already.

I don't want to wait to profit, however I am not extremely experienced in YouTube. I do however have a unique idea, which I believe would help me tremendously. When it comes to promoting channels and gaining a following I don't have a whole lot of experience.

I appreciate the input. I have some video editing experience, and an unique idea for YouTube. I really enjoy CPA though, even though I don't have that much experience, nor do I make a steady income from it. I don't mind losing a little bit of money, but not trying to create a sinkhole for myself. I will continue to research, and make sure I am not leaving any other options out without considering them. I think what may be best for me is to start the YouTube channel and begin to build a following, and continue to learn more about CPA as it seems to have a fairly steep learning curve. I love the allure of the hustle, craftiness, and art of CPA, but feel like I have a stronger idea with my YouTube channel. Either way I enjoy everything on this forum, and although I am not making a steady income yet, I enjoy learning something new everyday!

Buying youtube ads should help your channel to get more exposure and building your subscribers.

You are referring to promoting the videos for views right? I heard this can hurt your channel because will youtube will want you to continue to purchase views instead of help it grow organically I may be wrong though not sure.
