i hold my hands up last year i did 400 replys to intros in 1 month
but they where actual replys - no2 word posts, all 2-4 line replys
in my defense i am disabled so im home alot and on bhw alot.

if u no me i never do 3 words , i got busted by seo, now i do no
more than 2-3 a day welcome posts, unless ive replied to the odd
spammer - or user 1 posting a product.

isnt there some kind of script that makes a thread lock after
the thread starter has made say 2 posts or something in there
own intro? not web person so i duno.

or we just keep doin what where doin.

That's what I was thinking, I'm sure I've seen auto thread locking on other forums before.

It would make sense, otherwise you'll get all the pondlife going back 12 months and posting in the Introductions section.

An autolock ( IF it does exist ) would also be good on Giveaways/Freebies, too.

I still see people saying; I have 20 lots of XYZ to give away, and people reply 3 months later and they're post number is 350.

Disable the post counts on that section. Just as the lounge.

I really hate the idea of making any section not count posts.
Postcount is - guess what - to see how many posts a user made, no matter were they useful or not.
Maybe they should introduce something like effective post count etc but I think there should be a way to know how many posts a user made in all sections.

As @Zwielicht said, this is something we're discussing at the moment. However, just wanted to say that, while I appreciate you guys pointing out spammers that haven't been dealt with, can we please not call out members by name on the open forum?

I'll edit the names out of the posts. In future, please send a PM to any of us - or resubmit the report if you think it got missed - but calling people out by name isn't really what bhw is about.

Introduction mean newbie are introducing themselves and we are motivating them while saying "Welcome to the community or BHW world" etc. So i think it's not going to be count because we are not here for increasing our post through Introduction section but others are misusing that part and keep posting to all for post increment. Just like now HAF and WTB can be used by Jr. VIP member and because of that genuine person were facing problems as they can't response on any job or respond to a service provider. Now the advantage of that section is scammers unable to respond neither on post nor through conversation/PM.

Agree with @MisterF intro part post would be non countable.

well i'll let you guess for a little more till you figure it out ;)

Jealous of what ?

It's to stop fuckwits jumping into Jr.VIP by offering nothing except 100 posts saying ' Hi '

Jr. VIP Membership
If you have been a member of the forum for at least 60 days, and have made at least 100 posts,

Edit - I'd rather see criteria for Jr VIP be extended to 1 year too, not just 60 days.

What you are suggesting is a good one actually! and definitely that would be a real test for members out here to learn a lot in the mean time. Those who don't wanna wait will leave obviously and selective will remain.

And then part of the forum revenue would go to the ground. Because not only revenue from the upgrades per sè would drastically decrease, as a consequence much less marketplace threads would be opened, which would cut revenue from thread openings as well.

There is that aspect, but also the quality of people in Jr VIP might hopefully stay at a decent level, which would attract more new people upgrading.
