It 's a great idea to use youtube as a source of traffic - it is the second largest search engine in the world after all, and much easier to get traffic from than google.
As Benny mentions, you can post your own videos directly on youtube and then place your website link in the description box.
Alternatively, you can contact video owners who don't have a link in their description box but are getting a lot of views. You might have to pay a little bit to get your link in there but it's an incredibly cheap way to get thousands of visitors to your website. You can even automate the process and get your link in 10, 20 or even more description boxes.

At the end of your video, have a 15 second clip somehow convincing your viewers to go to your blog. Say something short and to the point to suck them in and then put your blogs URL. Also put a link to it in the description, if it's somewhat long or something like myblog.blogspot.com then say click the link in the description below.
