Youtube is a tough nut to crack these days, brand new algorithms and value pass along make it difficult as can be to get and maintain top video slots on Youtube, or to rank youtube videos for particular keywords.
However, I've managed to work out some methods for "Pop Ranking" with youtube videos, essentially these are high SERP rankings that we will hold for only a short amount of time but by strategically placing that time we can make plenty of profit. I've not been able to rank 100% of my videos this way, yet I have gotten rankings more often than not, I believe I'm still missing one piece of the puzzle but over all the method works enough to bank on.
As we know Youtube is a great way to quickly move in on a keyword bandwagon as it is instantly indexed and ranked, but unless you are the top (or on occasion top 2 - 3) videos then you have no chance of showing on the first page.
Here is an example of a video I was able to make "Pop" for a short time:
With in one hour of the video going live it was ranked as the number 2 listing for a popular product launch days after the product went live. So even after major SEO's posting review sites they worked on for days I was able to sneak in and take advantage of that traffic.
Doing this on Youtube is fairly simple, they like to showcase these videos in a few different ways and being the newest video or the most "timed-watched" (not fake views, but real views that sit through and watch the entire video) help. For this method we are going to take advantage of being the newest video combined with a few on-page style factors that Youtube looks for:
First and foremost comes your Title you will want your keyword, in this case "Backlink Automator Review" to be the very first thing in the title section, but you will also want to make sure you have something else in there, other keywords that no one else has. In my case I tend to use "Cobalt-Digital"
Description: For the description you don't want to start off with your keyword right away again but you will want it in quotation marks in the very first line, I also think it's a good practice to try and add your other title words, in this case "Cobalt-Digital" in the description, in plain text, before your primary keyword. You will also want to, where possible, add in an authority related keyword that you aren't targetting. Since Backlink Automator is a tool that works in the same field as and was even (wrongly) compared too scrapebox that's what I chose to use.
Outgoing Links: You will want at least 2 outgoing URL's, the first backlink should be a site you own and contain your keyword in the URL, this site should be validated with Google Authorship (preferably one built out with my Google Authorship Method), and should linkback to the video, preferably via embed. The other one should be to an established site in your niche that has some authority.
Keywords: You'll want to have your keyword phrase contained in here a few times, once fully "backlink automator review", once divided "backlink automator" "review", and once compressed "backlinkautomator", you'll also want one non mentioned keyword I usually tend to go for a negative one such as "scam", and your secondary title phrase in this "cobalt-digital"
Video Content: As many people know Youtube scans the visual content of videos, they use this tool normally to check for copyright violation but after some testing I believe used in relation to checking for, and valuing, duplicate versus unique content. For this reason don't use someone else's video or a product promotional video. Take the time to record original content and aim to at least be a few minutes in length.
Good Measures: At this point you should be good to go, however there are a few things that I like to do for good measure:
