    Hi guys!

So, I've used Google Adwords Keywords Tool to find some interesting keywords for my new YouTube channel, but one question, three in fact, remain.

    1. How many keywords should I use for my channel?

    2. How many keywords should I use for my videos?

    3. How many keywords should I tag my file with?

I can’t find any reliable informations about these questions, any recommendation?

Personally, I use VidiQ to manage and improve my onchannel seo. I don't use their keywords suggestions but they give a number of words indication on title/description/tags and a checklist of tasks to do before publishing the video. They also give the ranking of keywords on youtube after the video publishing and some other great featuring.

For SEO, I generally organize my video like that:

    Title (100 characters)

I try to put around 70 characters (max. 100) in the title with my main video keywords and some magic sentences.

    Description (5000 characters)
I rewrite my principal video keywords in the first description sentence. After that, I put some call to action for subscribing, website and amazon affiliate links.
Then you can write all the content you want in link with your description, with some keywords variations, etc.. More words you use better it is.

    Tag (500 characters)
I add my main video keywords first, after I add some variation like mainkeyword/keyword1, mainkeyword/keyword2, keyword1/keyword2.
I don't know if there are rules to follow for this, I do it with feeling and try to put the maximum tag.

One feature that looks very important and can help a lot to rank videos is the subtitles/CC. I try to use them most of the time, I manually enter the subtitles of my video and I have about 20-30% better result doing this.

If you have any opinion, feedback, and suggestions about my tips and my way to do I am curious to read you :)

Hi @blackbrut and thanks for your reply mate!

Regarding subtitles, I totally agree with you but I didn't know that it could improve your results by 20-30%. This is huge!!

What kind of content do you post on YouTube?

Yes, it's huge! Anyway, it can come from my niche: the subtitles can be very important and really add value to the video.
Another tip when I use subtitles, I add a 2 or 3-second black screen at the beginning of the video like this:

Finally, a great point of using subtitles is that you can call your community to contribute and add language translation with youtube subtitle system. They just do the work for you ;)
