Youtube Journey to Backpacking the World

Great news! I launched my membership site half way through the day yesterday! Things are looking pretty awesome so far. I already have 24 free members and 1 paid member! Of course, the paid member is one of the first 10 who get the first month for only 99 cents, so hopefully they forget about it or like the content and the rebill kicks in next month! I hope I can continue to knock out some more sales and this isn't just a fluke. I didn't really expect to get a sale so soon, but it's really motivating to see it all coming together.

That's all I wanted to say for now. I might report back again tonight with total signups.

EDIT: BAM! 1000th post! Crazy!

Not much got done today. Was at a party with an open bar last night. Today wasn't exactly the best day I've ever had haha.

No new sales on the membership site. 14 new free users so far. I sent out an email to all the free users with a cyber monday deal to get a month of premium for 99 cents, in case they didn't see the other coupon code on the homepage. I was late sending the email, so it's available until the end of tomorrow (Tuesday) actually. I also tweaked the checkout page to match my website more, and changed my Paypal email to one to match the site so it doesn't seem so sketchy sending money to a random email. Hopefully this boosts conversions.

My Youtube accounts also came in today. I'm going to start trying to get videos to stick by uploading each one 5 times with different details and see what ends up sticking.

I like how dedication! Just a tip, with your membership site, you are releasing you content every month aren't you? Just because otherwise they have no reason to stay on board and get re-billed i mean they can just go and view all the content and then cancel their subscription. SO that might be something to consider but other then that definitely keep it up and keep posting! Looking forward to seeing out this turns out. Are you able to PM your website? I am interested in having a look at it

Thanks! And yes I am releasing new content on a weekly basis as well as whenever new content is available in my niche. I won't be revealing the site or niche to anyone for any reason due to my own paranoia haha. Hope you understand.

I'll be back later to post some results. I am just at work right now and when I get home I'm going to duplicate a video 5 times and give it all different details and upload them. Not sure what else I'll be doing today.

My friend and I had intended on doing that since he has a lot of professional camera gear. He wanted to make a documentary out of the trip as well. Oh well though, if this trip ever happens it won't be for a while now. I want to be absolute sure I have the funds and the stability to do it.

I just want to throw this out here as well as it would help a lot:

Alright guys. I know deep down still I haven't been taking this journey nearly as seriously as I used to when I was actually making some money, so today I actually (finally!) got up at 8am! I have 100 YT accounts ready to go. I am going to take my top 20 most searched niches, duplicate their videos x4 (5 videos total for each), edit all the details on all of them and upload them. Any extra time in going into content for the membership site. And any time left after that, will be put into research for ranking videos. I think I am going to buy GSA SER soon, because it seems like a lot of YTers are having success with it.

Once I have my videos uploaded, I'm hoping that at least 1 of each niche will stick. I will then add them into SerpBook and take a screenshot, since I know people love screenshots in these journey threads!

I could also take some screens of some other stuff if anyone is interested, although my earnings are insignificant at the moment since I'm earning nearly $0 right now.

It's time to take back what I had! I need to start making money again. Let's do it!

Decided I might try and add some graphics to get people a little more engaged here. It might also help me realize how much more work I actually have to do. If I see myself quitting at 25%, it'll make me think twice.

EDIT: Progress updated. 50% done the videos. Keep in mind they aren't actually uploaded yet, but they are duplicated and edited and completely prepped to be uploaded. Once they are all ready I will start the upload process in MVB Pro.

I am taking a break for a bit now as I have been working for 3 hours straight.

EDIT AGAIN: Videos are all done. Going to start the upload process very soon! Time to get some content up on the membership site!

I think 45 minutes is a good enough break. I really want to finish everything I set out to do today. Time for another coffee, some lunch, and I'll be on my way to finishing the last 50 videos! I should also order some more accounts so I can get to work on the rest of the videos as soon as possible.

Videos are all done! Woo! That was a lot of work. 100 videos in one day. Feels good. Praying that at least some of these stick. It'll be a huge upset if none of these stick at all but let's hope for the best. Time to work on the membership site. Shouldn't take me too long to shell out 5 new pages.

Today's work is all done (scroll up to see the handy progress bar)! Wow. I can't believe how much can actually get done in just 5 hours. 100 youtube videos ready to go and 5 new posts on my membership site. Exciting stuff. Just started the upload process on the videos. Hoping they stick. We'll see soon.

Well, 70-75% of the videos I uploaded are dead already. There is an odd pattern though. Through the first 75, most of them were all dead. But then as I got into the last 25, every single one was still alive. At first I thought maybe certain niches would were just dying more easily, but perhaps the first 75 accounts I had were all crap accounts. I might try another supplier and reupload the ones that didn't stay alive.

As far as what I am going to do today, I still don't really know. I'm going to order some new accounts for starters though. I am also thinking about trying to rank my landing pages rather than the videos. The thing is, the landers don't exactly have the best on page SEO. I suppose I could always edit them though. It might be time to buy GSA SER very, very soon.

Well, I guess just typing this out helped me out. I'm going to go back through my keywords and see which sites are ranking in the top 10 for some of my better niches.

Perhaps I'll make another progress graphic today, although I'm not sure how that would work, since I'm not exactly sure on everything I am doing today.

Yesterday I got some new youtube accounts in and uploaded 70 videos. They are all deleted already. I think this is from buying accounts. I really think I need to start making my own accounts and uploading the videos to the account from the same ip it was created on. Hopefully this will allow me to keep my videos online, and give me some time to rank them up.

I have also started buying some seo services directly to my landing pages. We'll see if anything happens over the next few weeks. If I can just rank my main pages I might just say to hell with it with the Youtube videos and just SEO my entire empire.

Will post back when something happens.

Yes man, create your own accounts. I feel like when you buy accounts you're making a death wish. If you want to make sure something is done right then do it yourself. By the way, backpacking the world sounds amazing. Good luck!

Hello once again! I know I haven't been active in this thread again, but hopefully all that is going to change this new year! It appears I've lost sight in my goals for a while there. but it's time to do something about it!For starters, I WENT BLUE! Thought I'd give myself some kind of present/motivation/whatever you want to call it.


Secondly, all of my videos have been sticking for the past 4 days now. There are just 60 videos that are yet to be uploaded, which are queued up as we speak. Hopefully they start up forever As soon as there's some view providers again, I'll be boosting the videos up.Also, I haven't made any new videos in a very long time. What's up with that? Also, I'm no longer going down to a minimum of 200 searches/month. I think I'm going to set the low cap at at least 500, maybe even 1000.


I also need to start working with the membership site again. I halted the entire site for a couple of weeks now to focus on YT stuff again. I think I'm going to make some YT videos specifically for the membership site and try and rank those as well. We'll see what happens.


I'll also be buying GSA and some kind of captcha software soon. It's about damn time I did this.

Ok, so nothing got done today. I was setting up CrazyFix's viral fb script, but it looks like fb may have made some changes because it doesn't seem to be working.

Also, most of my videos have gone down again. Surprisingly though, a few random ones have still lived. These are ones that I edited. Looks like there might be some co-relation here. I'll be looking into these videos and seeing why they are still alive.

Anyway, all this IM stuff is doing my head in today. I'm going to hit the wine books (and some wine) for the rest of the night.

Unfortunately, bad sleep habits are forming again. Waking up at 3pm really puts a damper on your day. Really trying to fix this so hopefully I can force myself to get up. For some reason my alarms haven't been going off on my phone, that's the first thing I need to fix.

Anyway, here's the plan. I've duplicated each of my niches again and put them all in a new campaign. I'm going to go through them all and edit them and reupload them once again. Another thing I want to try is manually uploading. I'll be doing that with a few videos as soon as I can. Unfortunately I have to work in an hour so today's probably a write off. Most likely won't be able to do anything tonight either.

Oh, I don't know if I mentioned, but since the other viral script isn't working anymore, I found one that basically just forces the user to like/share my page before continuing. I almost have it all setup and integrated well into my landing page. I'm hoping this thing can drive some more traffic. I also assume it will work a lot better than the traditional viral referrer script.

Anywho, that's the general plan for now. I'm just going to list the things I want to do here for future reference.

-Edit/upload all videos
-Upload some videos manually
-Buy GSA SER/Captcha
-Rank website directly
-Finish setting up the fb share script

I noticed you dumped the viral script. When I implemented it I thought about the visitors that didn't want to share the site and made it an option instead. I give them something better or of more value if they share the link and get the required amount of referrals. So if they share it or not, you won't miss out on a potential lead.

Thanks for the tip Kinlee. For now I'm going to try out this new script and get everything else done too. Once everything is done I might split test with the old script or something.
