Youtube Journey to Backpacking the World

For some strange reason I decided to start a journey thread. Anyway...

I've been off and on doing some Youtube stuff for the past few months now and I think I'm finally about to crack the code. The past few months I only made between 3-500 each month, but I plan on making much more in May. My final goal is to have 20k in the bank by mid November. A friend of mine invited me to backpack the world with him for a year, and this is a very rough estimate of what I think the total cost will be.

Aside from Youtube, I'm also actively looking for a 9-5 since I am a recent programming grad. If I can get a solid job the goal shouldn't be too difficult to reach. For the sake of this thread though, I will only be discussing my Youtube journey.

When I first started Youtube I was doing quality videos, but eventually moved onto quantity, which worked nicely for a bit, however, it was very inconsistent and a pain in the ass to deal with. I've since moved back to quality videos. Lucky for me I saved all of my original videos. Yesterday I threw them all into MVB Pro.

I guess we can call today the official day 1. So here's what I've done thus far today:

-Made sure my videos are still alive
-Boosted 10 or so of the videos with views/likes/comments with u2bviews.
-Uploaded 4 videos
-Major niche research. Gathered a total of 14 more videos to upload which are currently being transferred to my VPS to be put in the queue.

Total uploaded videos: 32 (But about to upload 14 more).
Clicks: 6 Tier 1 (US, UK, CA, AUS), 44 Tier 2 (Rest of the world)
Conversions: 0
Made today: $0.00
Total made: $0.00

Really need to optimize my offers. Haven't really been able to convert any German or France or any other countries worth monetizing.Really need to get access to some more networks.

Good Luck. I am pretty much in the same boat as you. If I get to $100/day I will go and travel the world. I only need my laptop and my coding skills lol.

Do you think MVB Pro is worth it for scraping and uploading copied videos to multiple accounts?
I tried it before but got banned very very fast, with private proxy.

I originally thought mass downloading and then uploading thousands of videos was the way to go, but trust me, it isn't. You can go ahead and upload 1-2k videos on one single account. The account dies in 6-12 hours. You will get some traffic, but it's not worth it at all. Of course you could do the mass upload thing with way more accounts and hope they all live, but even then, 99% of the videos you upload will be garbage or watermarked and useless.

Anyway, got those 14 videos uploaded. Now have a grand total of 46 videos online. Going to wait 24 hours before boosting any of the new videos to avoid wasting credits on videos that are going to trigger a deletion.

what kind of backlinks are your using for ranking?

Good luck, and if your travelling the world, you should be making small video blogs on youtube, and raking in genuine adsense for them.

to all those traveling the world, what are you staying in?

because off $100 a day you're going to be whining if ur staying in a marriot in copenhagen, so i've been interested in doing the same but what are viable luxury options to stay in that shouldn't drain your bank account?

Or am i just being cheap about certain marriots running high in certain cities?

I plan on staying in hostels. Also plan on working when and where I can. And ya living off of $100/day is plenty. I plan the average to be about $40/day since I'm staying in cheaper areas, i.e. not going to Europe and spending lots of time in south east Asia.

My friend is a very talented photographer/artist. He's making a documentary of the whole trip. I'm really not sure how he's going to manage carrying a camera and a tripod and all his gear all year, but it should make for a great film, unless of course he gets robbed lol. But yea that might actually be a good idea to put footage on Youtube and monetize it.

100$/day not that hard to get. it you really want 100$/day than you need to try seo and ecommorce + youtube

I think that's actually a really good idea. If done right, you might even be able to sell the documentary or get a reality tv show. I mean, everyone and their mothers are getting one nowadays haha. Start up a separate channel and call the series something like Around The World With $100. Film the sights, the food, the people, the place that you're staying in and get tips from the locals. The sky's the limit with this and it will definitely take off, trust me. As long as the series is in HD and the quality shows in the camera work and editing, you'll be set. Heck, you might even be able to pay for the whole trip with just this channel in the end and you might make a career out of it.

A new dawn a new day. Although not really dawn because I slept like a log and it's 2:30pm now... Anyway, time to get to work. Going to do a bunch of niche research and attempt to grab some good hd videos that aren't watermarked. I have a feeling I won't be so lucky today, so I might have to make my own videos.

I also have some prior obligations I'm pretty late on. Supposed to make some videos for someone, so I plan on getting a couple of those done today.

Anyway, time to whip up some bacon and eggs, get a coffee in me, and get to work.

Quick update for today's stats thus far. Found 8 niches. Had to make my own videos for most of them. Uploading those videos right now. I also boosted 7 of my videos from yesterday with views, likes and comments. Looks like it might be a little difficult to find 25 niches everyday since today I couldn't really find any. I'll probably just end up reusing the niches that perform well and just give the videos new titles/descriptions/tags.

My EPC is killing me. I'm going to try and round up some new offers.

Trouble in paradise today. Had 5 accounts deleted. Lost 23 videos. Pretty sure this is caused from using the same 20 private proxies I've been using for a while now. I'm going to reupload the 23 videos for now but not boost them unless they stick. Ordering some new accounts and I will be using public proxies from now on.

Don't get discouraged, work hard to reach your goal. IMO there is nothing more delightful than IM + Travelling. Good luck with your journey!

I'm not discouraged at all, it was expected that accounts will die.

Anyway, already got my new 25 accounts. Plan for today is to come up with some new niches, but I'm also going to duplicate most of my videos to the new accounts with new titles/tags/descriptions. I'm also kind of thinking that 5 videos/account might be too many. Might move down to 3.

On the locker side of things, I've added a couple new offers to the mix and will see how they perform.

What's the purpose of creating many accounts? Can't you just get by with a couple?

When I first started, before this journey, I used one account. It eventually got deleted and I lost all my traffic. It's the age old saying, don't put all your eggs in one basket. I'm minimizing the risk by using multiple accounts and multiple proxies.

Just a small update. Didn't really do any niche research today. What I did do though is reupload all my deleted videos, as well as duplicate some of my more promising videos. I also tried using public proxies on my new accounts. Turns out public proxies are the worst thing ever for Youtube. They tend to not even work at all and even when they do they're incredibly slow. Tomorrow I'm going to try and make/steal 11 new videos to top off the video count at 100.
