Your flash websites are dead.

Somewhere in Canada, Colin Mochrie sheds a single tear as "A Little Less Conversation" by Elvis plays in the background.

Flash died about 10 years ago right?
Yep. But some folks still have their flash games/tube sites ranked. (search them on google). It Will be a big hit for them. They should've made the change several years ago, thought, so it's not like it's coming as a surprise.

Still, it's interesting to see flash gone for good and not make it to the next decade.

its about time to finally put it to rest everywhere..

R.I.P flash. lots of issues will arise with managing hypervisors on servers and old legacy web apps.

I'm pretty sure that those won't be hit. Those are actually very normal websites, even currently the main part of their indexed content aren't the games, but the descriptions/comments etc. If I understand correctly, this update will hit sites that are entirely rely on flash. Loads of very old websites. For example, there famous bands(musical bands:D) that still use their decade old flash site till this date.

And there is still demand for flash game tubes. It would be a bad move to wipe those.

Why? This thing needs to die already. No one wants flash to be around in any forms whatsoever.

it was a thing in 2008 :D when i started web design

It was a thing for long before that.

There was a huge program for making animations and movies called Macromedia Director.

Flash was a component extracted from Director and became a plugin.

In the early days you'd have to make the movie in Director then you'd run it through something called "after burner". The after burner produced a SWF file which you could embed on your HTML.

I made some $ from this in the late 90's.

I remember there is one flash site very popular . I forget the name , only can recall their domain name got word " ground "
the site showcase individual flash cartoon projects etc.
