Google Analytics + Adwords.

I don't know, but it's funny. xD One unlikely theory is that if your keywords are highly unique, a website decided to put adsense on their webpage for a day.:D Pretty fail explanation, I know.

I get those bumps all the time, it jumps up like crazy for no apparent reason and then goes lower than it was before, sometimes it's SE, just lately it was from direct traffic, the exact same pattern for no reason at all. Well that's the internets for ya. My guess is it's those damn hackers, they can explode your computer, you know, turn it into a bomb and such.

Nope, NO FUN here. Same happened to me mate. Mine was from 1st of June. It's a penalty, that's for sure. Happened to me b4. Found the problem and sorted it out the first time. Don't know what it is THIS time. Still investigating.
All the best.

Thanks, that's a plausible reason: a penalty... I think this site is penalized by big G. But how do i figure out what's the reason? This is a white hat one.

Undetermined error, you might want to have a look at this thread I just posted.

I'm having the same trouble as you. It really sucks not knowing whats gone wrong with a site - if it's been blacklisted forever, fine, just move on - but you just don't know!

Well one time when it happened to me, G changed their algo and then I had too much links in my sitemap. After I split up the sitemap, everything was ok again.

The other time when they changed the algo, I had too much internal links per page. After I reduced it, everything went back to normal.

What I found THIS time, was that my pages were being de-indexed. After investigation I found that my sitemap filesize was too big. Changed it last week and notice now that pages are slowly re-indexing.

Hope this helps
Cheers

I've read somewhere that there is no big advantages to use a sitemap with google however it can turn against you big time. This seems to confirm it.

Yes, i have a big sitemap and a lot of internal links per each page. But in the near past google was ok with that, i'll remove most of them.

itrevor +1 rep added.

anyone another ideas? i give rep :D

the same feeling here mate.

You've deal with any paid links? Any links with suspicious anchor keywords that are ******** can cause Google to think likewise of your site.

Albert - I was under the impression that building ******** links with your keyword anchor text is the primary method for building search engine rank. If not this way, how do you do it?

What was the problem the first time?

I assume you are talking about outgoing links. I manually checked every partner website and they all have good pr and alexa ranking.
