Hey guys,

What better way to calibrate my moral compass than to ask the very community of people that brought me into this Internet marketing game!

In the past the reason why I never targeted teenagers and younger people was because I didn't think that they would have much loose cash let alone a credit or paypal account...

So I was thinking would it be the worst idea in the world to ask the kids to go and look for mommy's or daddy's credit card so that they can buy my products?

Would you do it??

Meh, maybe your right...

morally its wrong man. But when the kids ask thier parents, the responsible parents would look at ur site, if u can sell it to them great!

LOL - up to you, I think its wrong i much rather target a fat middle aged man.

I don't like to sell things to people if they don't need them or really want them. If I don't think it will really benefit them, I make sure to fully explain the pros and cons, and then if they still want to purchase, I have no problem selling to anyone whether they are 1 years old or 100 years old.

In the end, like maddness said, its up to you. People with Credit Cards need to be responsible with them. They need to know what they are purchasing. In this day and age, people need to look for fine print, and if their is no fine print, do research before making that purchase. And if they purchase something that is useless, they need to understand that the money they lost is worth the lesson learned.

Well I won't go for it. As the user above said, its wrong mortally and even for you, it won't yield the best results.
if you want to target kids, throw them some Pay per install things like those from adscend media.

Phew, that's just what i needed. I have been brought back from the edge of moral collapse.

Thanks guyz, blackma :)

time to kick your back to the edge of morals I guess :) , just do it.

Take into account that your chargebacks will go through the roof though.

I have to respectfully disagree. This issue isn't one of a moral nature.

What the op actually said was, "ask the kids to go and look for mommy's or daddy's credit card so that they can buy my products?" Were it a matter of asking them to go ASK their parents if they would buy the product for them, that would be different. And I have used that strategy on the phone in direct response call centers many times. It's OK to ask someone to ASK someone else to use their card or to order something for you. It's not OK to ask someone to steal from someone or misuse their credit cards or financial information.

Unless these kids are authorized users of their parent's credit cards, this is called fraud. This isn't a moral dillema. It's a matter of figuring out if you should break the law or not.

I'm not the morality police, nor do I think it's my place to tell people whether they should break the law or not. But I think it's important to at least be aware that by asking a question in a slightly messed up way - it's doesn't change the REAL nature of the question.

OP - you wouldn't be asking this question at all if you had the slightest bit of comfort with the idea of doing it. You certainly wouldn't be asking it in a way that frames it as a less offensive act. If you have to think that hard about it - don't do it. It's not in your nature.

That said, if you are comfortable with the risk of having broken the law, or that you won't be discovered, then give it a go, but don't delude yourself into thinking it's a matter of ethics.

look for stuff like pay per SMS, cos the youth nowadays are bind to there cellies as hell.

The question here isnt about morals. However, the answer is that your revenue will be small. How many kids can convince their parents to get their credit cards? Why even bother?

You can make your silly little campaigns targeting some kids, while I rake in the big bucks targeting adults looking to buy my products.

Bottom line is, don't bother with the small stuff go for the big guns. ;)

Very solid point IMO.

Be creative. Credit cards aren't the only way the exploit kids.

You can use CPA offers. There's a "Get Justin Beiber cellphone number if you will out 5 surveys offer".

A several other highly popular members on the forum, and I, are teenagers and we have thousands and thousands to spend, so don't think that all teenagers are broke, you just have to find the 1 in 10000 customers :P. However, yes the average teenager is a complete idiot and usually owns a bank account with a balance in the single digits ahaha.
