Thats very easy, go to style.css and on the line 12 you have max width of #page that you can adjust.

I was thinking of using this popup for a contact form. But is there a way or plugin for contact form to be imported into a database? If so, what would be the format? xml? csv? AFAIK, the contact forms just sends an email to an address and I would like to capture these information and port it into a customer database. Is that possible?

I am very impressed with the information you are providing here and hope you can help me. I am using an older verson of Catalyst 1.4 to rework my appraisal site. I have wordpress set up on a subdirectory - test1. I set up a static home page and it seems that there is some communication problems with wordpress and Catalyst as it does not appear to be pulling up the page I designated as the static home page. All that shows up is my Header menu one item from the static ez-home bottom widget. This communication problem seems to be in other areas also. I have been working a custom home page using their advanced custom widgets and for some reason the only layout that is reading it is the default one. I have made 4 other layouts to try my various pages with and have tried linking the custom widget set up to those and none of them recognize it including the static home page layout. I am not sure if this is a bug in Catalyst or if my database is corrupted or what the problem is. I am trying catalyst and plan on buying it when I get paid in a couple of weeks, but I really would like to get this website designed prior to that. I appreciate any suggestion's you could give me.

I am editing this post as I think I have found at least part of the problem. When I try to save custom widgets to my custom pages, it is not taking. It shows as them being added, but when I refresh it goes back to just the default setting for each of the custome widget areas. The other custom pages are showing up as being an option still, but they are unchecked.

Hey, I have never used Catalyst framewrok before, why don't you try downloading newest version of catalyst, if you can find it. I really have no way to help you as I have no experience nor system to test.

I searched the theme and could not find the section with media uploader, php or js. Try the last fix (not secure) or try asking developer.
 
thanks, i googled it and some are saying its a bug in the latest version of wordpress... if i revert my version of my wordpress will

it fix the issue?

Hi, I'm going to jump in before you get tired or out of time! It's about plugins...

What would you recommend as far as backup plugins?

And more in general, how do you, personally, weed through so many plugins available without testing them all, which requires quite some time?

Finally, what's the best procedure to set up similar WP websites, with similar plugins?
Download them and reupload them to a new site?

Well Thank you anyways. I guess it must be a communication problem between Catalyst and Wordpress as I see the same problem of not updating in several areas, the menus, the home page and the custom layouts/widget areas so far. I solved the one with the custom layouts, by deleting the ones that weren't taking and creating a new one. Still don't know how to handle the home page and now the menu issue. I do have the latest version of Catalyst by the way. Guess I will have to wait until I can actually buy it before I do anymore work with it, and hope that they have a work around for the problems.

Hey, for backup and general security I use Better WP Security. Check out managewp.com for the rest of your qeustion.
About plugin, there is no way to test them all. When I need something, I search for plugin and test it, if it works works, if not I move.
