    Hi BHW, I am not very active on forums but I follow you every day, and I want to repay for everything I received from this forum and it's members.

    I have noticed that many users here are struggling with WordPress and that is why I want to offer my help in this topic. I have used WordPress for a very long time and I believe I can help many of you.
    Feel free to ask questions about anything, styling, hosting, domains, plugins, themes, optimization etc.

    Looking forward to helping you with your WordPress issues.

    Translating WordPress themes can be easy, but also pain in the ass, depends on your WordPress theme provider.

    First, you need to find .po file of your theme.
    Using File Manager, go to
    Code:
    yoururl/wp-content/themes/YOURTHEMENAME/
    Once there, look for folder named language or lang or something like that.

    When you find it, open it. In there, you should have two files, .po and .mo

    Download .po file to your computer. Then, download and install Poedit (just google it). When finished, open the downloaded .po file with Poedit.

    You should see multiple lines now, probably in english. Choose each line and write your own translation in the box below.

    When you finish translating, save that file as: YOURLANGUAGESHORTCODE.po
    For example, my native language is croatian, so I would save my file as hr.po

    Once saved, look at the directory where you saved the .po file. You should also get .mo file. You wil need both .po and .mo file, so upload them both to your lang folder (the one you downloaded original .po file from).

    This part is now done. Now all you have to do, is go to the root folder of your WordPress website using File Manager. There, find wp-config.php file, open it with editor and find this line:

    PHP:
    define ('WPLANG','');
    Change it to look like this:

    PHP:
    define ('WPLANG','THELANGUAGESHORTCODEYOUUSEDINNAMING.POFILE');
    For example, my set-up would look like this:

    PHP:
    define ('WPLANG','hr');
    Update file and refresh your WordPress website. Both back-end and theme should be translated to the prefered language.

    Ass this code at the end of your style.css file:

    Code:
    #content {
    margin: 0 34% 0 2%;
    width:75%;
    }
    #secondary {
    margin-right: 2.6%;
    width:16%;
    }
    Let me know if you are satisfied with the result.

    Great thread mate, gonna bookmark as I know I will be asking few in the future. One question thou right, I am planning on doing some adsense sites, 5 to be exact. I am currently looking for reseller hosting for these sites. Of course they are gonna be wordpress sites. Was wondering if you had any suggestion on reseller web host beside hostgator?

    Thank you.

    Why do you want reseller hosting? For the beginning, shared hosting will be just enough. Later, if you get massive traffic, go to vps or even dedicated server.

    I have use Hostgator, SiteGround, JixHost and many others and I was not really satisfied (SiteGround was the best), now I use Arvixe (google Arvixe hosting) and I am satisfied with both price and performance, so I would currently recommend them.

    I was having problems today when I was searching for a way to get Facebook comments number on my WordPress website.

    The thing is, I did not use WordPress comments but instead replaced them with Facebook ones. What I needed then is for WordPress to display Facebook comments number as Wordpress would always return 0.
    This is how you do it:

    Go to your WordPress admin backend (yoururl.com/wp-admin) -> Appearance -> Editor

    In the right tab, find functions.php file and click on it. It should load in the editor now. Scroll down to the bottom, and below everything, paste this:

    PHP:
    <?php

    function fb_comment_count(){
    global
    $post;
    $url get_permalink($post->ID);

    $filecontent file_get_contents('graph.facebook.com/?ids='$url);
    $json json_decode($filecontent);
    $count $json->$url->comments;
    if(
    $count ==0||!isset($count)){

    $count =0;
    }
    echo
    $count;
    }
    ;
    ?>
    (!important - add https[remove]:[remove]// in front of graph.facebook.com/?ids= (I am not allowed to add links yet here).)
    Now choose Update File.

    Ok, first part is over, what we need now is to include that in the posts.
    Choose single.php in the same tab you found functions.php and paste this where you want for comment count to appear:

    PHP:
    <?php fb_comment_count();?>
    That's it! You have your own Facebook comment count in WordPress now.

    Furthermore, if you want to display combined number of WordPress and Facebook comments (in case you have both comment systems enabled), change
    PHP:
    echo $count
    in above code to
    PHP:
    return $count
    , and then add this code where you want to show number of comments:
    PHP:
    <?php
    $fb_comments
    fb_comment_count();
    $wp_comments get_comments_number();
    $total_comments $fb_comments $wp_comments;
    printf ("<p>There are %d Total Comments: %d Wordpress Comments + %d Facebook Comments</p>\n",

    $total_comments$wp_comments$fb_comments );

    ?>
    Feel free to tweak the code to your needs ;)

    NOTE: There is much easyer way to do this, but this uses javascript and is not to neat, also you can not use addition in this case:

    PHP:
    There are <fb:comments-count href=<?php $permalink get_permalink$id ); ?>></fb:comments-count> Facebook comments

    Just wanted to share my favourite Security WordPress plugin - Better WP Security (google it)

    What I like the most about this plugin is it's Database backup function. It saves me a lot of time because now I don't have to worry anymore about backing up my WordPress database every day - this plugin does that for me.
    Every day it sends database backup to my email.

    It is also user friendly and has many other security options necessary for any serious blog.

    Feel free to test it out.

    It's really hard to understand you. If I understand correctly, you have set up WordPress to send you email each time new post is posted on your blog, correct?

    wordpress.org is the obvious choice to ask questions in, but they wont talk about alot of stuff, and haven't a clue about marketing or SEO so this thread will be of great benefit to users!

    Thanks given... and some day soon I'll probably be quizzing you also :)
