Hey guys, random thought and I'm sure this business model already exists.

What dyou guys think of building up an empire of strong web 2.0s and establishing a company that rents or sell outgoing links ?

You can take inspiration in the sells thread section.
I think that there still are a few services that sells links on web2.0 blogs. I didn't see any to rent links on web2.0.

A lot of people do that, that's what monthly links packages are in the marketplace.
