Will bing ban me for this?

I've split tested a few landers on bing.
I found out they all suck.
I want to split test 2 offers on bing. Direct link.

I will simply replace my lander links with my affiliate links inside my tracking solution.

But is this a big no-no that will get my account immediately banned? I just want to gather data on commercial intent of the market -- and than go back to using landers and bridge pages .

Can I get away with direct linking?

Will bing find out? (The ads are still running, but the tracking link will send directly to the offer, and not my landing page)

You can direct link in Bing ads, but you need to update your display url in Bing ads and it should be ok.

You can do this as long as the landing page used follows all rules and policies. So read the policies, understand them and if they are being followed, go ahead. Remember however that pages change and that change could then be against one or more policies. In that case, your ads would become disapproved and indeed, your account could be banned.

My suggestion is therefore to be careful if you direct link. Do so for "safe" affiliate sites. I would never for example do so for any sort of weight loss product, most of which would not pass the test.

I went ahead and direct link to the offer. I change the display URL.
My ad got disapproved, as I learned, because I needed a new ad group for a different display url.
Hopefully this is a small lesson that will get me through the longer term.

How many violations does it take before the account gets banned?
Do violations fall off over time?

In general, Bing does allow direct linking, but it should adhere to their policies. If you are in doubt, you can always ask someone from their online support system, they are actually friendly and pretty knowledgeable.

I don't know specifically about Bing, nor Adwords for that matter but I'm sure they have similar rules.

There are degrees of violations. If you make the mistake you did (and I've done it myself), it's relatively minor as would many others such as excessive capitalization. However, I've seen people keep repeating the same mistake and that gets them in trouble. So don't simply copy over the offending ad. If you are not sure what the issue is, find out and correct it properly.

What I've heard about Adwords, nothing ever seen in writing just hearsay, is that they have a 3-strike type of rule. This needs to occur in a certain period of undetermined time. So if within two days you keep insisting on writing new ads in a group with different URLs, I don't believe they'll ban you for that but you if you keep making many other mistakes you could. It would show them that you are the type of advertiser they don't want: you don't read the rules or ignore them.

Other rule breaking are more severe. These do get you ban and quickly. An example would be suspicious billing and another, for affiliate marketers, repeatedly ignoring the bridge page rule.

I'm sure that if you break a couple of rules but over time show that you are a responsible advertiser, even making a mistake later, you would not be penalized. In other words, after some time your violation count is reset.

I just thought of a great example. A client campaign I manage has thousands of products. Last year, they made a change in some categories and the URLs changed. Hundreds of products now had a 404 page. Google actually sent many messages. But they didn't ban. It's not the sort of offense to be banned over. Just a friendly warning that the ads are inactive because of the 404.

You should be fine.

Bing is very strict here. Very often they will ban an account without you knowing the reason. You can contact them with your landing page and ask if you will be doing fine.

Always check first landing page on bing chat if is approved and then start with campaign.

Directlinking in BING was ok sometime ago, I have run too,
But not sure in present terms.
