You see, it's just easier to use PPD rather than making your own website with your own hosting and creating a content locker. The thing is, PPDs take a large chuck of your earnings (up to 50% in some cases). You'll earn more using CPA, but it's more work.

PPD--less money, but easy to set up, much less maintenance, run your sites more independently, no AMs, can choose PPDs w/o surveys, etc.
Many of us got into IM based on the schema of making money passively and stably once the system was set up. PPD more conforms to that model than CPA does. If money is the bottom line CPA pays better, but it comes at a higher opportunity cost in time, labor and hassle.
