WHY my sites keyword have lost SERP ?

Today I checked the rankings of keywords of my clients site and it has lost its rankings and the traffic is gone down by 70% approx...in yahoo and bing rankings are intact but google has brought rankings down..can anyone suggest what can be the reason ? and what can be done.?
please your answers should be backed by proof as i have to answer clients

probably the site got penalized due to linkbuilding you have done, did you?

check how many of your links where removed from the index and rebuild them or build better ones

1. Check out webmastertools and see if there is any "unnatural links" message from Google.
2. Check your site out at Majestic Seo and see whether you have over-optimized anchor texts.
3. If you have done any dubious link building in the past, you may be penalized now for it. You would need to disavow those links.
4. Is the 70% drop on a single keyword, across a set of keywords? Check out the type of sites that have replaced yours. That should give you a hint as to what went wrong.

I have same problem, all my keywords has been decreased and I lost 80% visitors.

Possibly due to penalty. Check out the link profile, and figure out what went Wrong. Answer them accordingly.

lmxftw - yes that was the point I forgot to check just now checked 92 backlinks were removed in last 15 days ..you point helped me a lot.

Nikita hearty thanks got answer..i just now checked in last 15 days we have lost 92 back-links...I forgot to check lost back-links - Thanks for help ...


Doofenshmirtz - Mate check out number of back-links removed..I am pretty sure you might not have checked that


imyself - I think its loss of back-links

Download all your links from ahrefs and check if anyone has done negative seo on your client's site. If so, you can disvow those links
