Why is my Wordpress article messed up on google?

I need some advice. I recently created a self-hosted wordpress blog, which has been a huge learning experience for me. But I'm having issues with my one post. I installed yoast seo, filled out the meta description for my post and did everything necessary to make it seo friendly. However, when the post shows up on Google, there's no title - just my website name - and no meta description, just a brief snippet of a paragraph in the middle of the page. When you click on the link, it takes you to the home page, not the actual article. If I constructed my post like I was supposed to, Why is it appearing on google like this? None of my other posts are doing this!
