Why is Instagram so convinced that I am a bot

I haven't used any 3rd party apps, or autolikers,commenters ANYTHING! Every time I try to comment instagram asks me to verify that I am human. I don't even spam likes comments. I don't get it.


To make things worse, I think that this is the reason instagram shows my posts only to like 10-20 people. Anyone has any experience with this? I don't see why instagram will penalize me for being a bot when I am not :weep:

Since you are writing this here I am convinced that you are not a bot! (just like I am not a fish)

Try accessing your Insta account from a different device and different internet connection. May be it is an issue with your ip.
 
That's exactly the kind of question a bot would ask!

For real, though, they know how millions of normal users act. They scroll pages while they're waiting for their coffee and don't come out of a data centre IP 24/7. Just act natural.

I tried that and got burned badly lol. Instagram has drastically sharpened their abilities to catch bought/sold accounts, so please be careful if you take that road

Yeah I am aware of that and I am not doing anything like that. That's why I am confused why Instagram thinks im a bot

I think that this might be the issue actually. Although I have never before gotten banned or something like that on Insta, I have broken the rules a couple of times. Do I have to use a VPN to change my IP? I think there was some way to change your IP by restarting the router?

Is your account new?
 
They say they think you are a "bot" because if they had said they think you are a "marketer that doesn't buy ads" people would realize that Instagram is primarily a marketplace.

This ^ And, can be collateral damage (affecting real users) for so many damned anti-spam filters.

these bot comments on BHW are getting worse every day smh

If you use the VPN then Insta will again ask you for a personal verification. Recently I created an Instagram account via VPN and I immediately got a message that my account was disabled! I had to log in and it asked me for my self verification. I had to take a selfie with a code they sent written on paper and send them to verify that I am a human!
 
Maybe the phone number or email you created the account with is not trustworthy? Can you share more details about your account so we can see where the problem actually is
 
There may be some errors with your IP address and may have some problems with your phone number ad email id.
 
Instagram has set a limit of every action you do on Instagram that are need to be followed, Not following them certainly result in some problem.

10-15 follow/unfollow /Hour
60-80 follow/unfollow /Day

30-45 DM / Day
5-8 DM / Hour

30-40 comments / Day
5-8 comments / Hour

20-30 Likes / Day
150-200 Likes / Hour

If you are exceeding these limits frequently you may get verify notification.
 
Most of the time it's your ipaddress they don't like, but now a days it could be anything.

On a lighter note:
If you use below recommendation even with a bot, instagram will not think you are a bot.

Change passwords, put 2FA, unlog from all devices, clean caches...
