I've been searching for hours and not once I found a bold and clear answer or at least a close estimate of how much famous youtubers make. All I found was articles made by non-youtubers who throw a really rough estimate with no backed up facts. Even youtubers themselves claim to not make a dime because all the revenue earned goes to production costs. REALLY!!. I mean come on, put some prep in that step. What is the big secret about this. If google wants more people to generate money for them they should encourage people to make channels and grow them.

So I decided to do the math my self. I had enabled monetization on one of my old videos that gets nearly 600 views a day. The video started to generate $2.5 - $3.50 each day . Now lets say the minimum is $2.5. So one of the big youtube channels(without naming) that gets about 4 million views each week/16 million each month makes a minimum of: (2.5 x 16,000,000)/600 = ~ $67,000 monthly.

Now I know this seems very unrealistic and to good to be true. Plus it is the gross revenue without extracting production costs. Which is why I am still looking for a reasonable answer. I remember one time seeing an interview on the news with a famous youtube prankster and he confirmed that he never needed a job after starting his youtube channel and that he makes a good living out of it.

If you're asking why I am looking for this information it's because I have an awesome idea for a youtube channel and I will be creating a journey thread about it. Until now I can't find a handful of information on here about creating an authority channel.

Thanks for reading guys please post your opinions and sorry if I wasted your time.

you forgot the views that don't have an ad at the beginning

Plus my video does not show the pre video ad to every viewer.

famous youtubers will never reveal how much they make, but you can estimate it by minimum epm which is around $1+, some videos will have higher epm up to $2 or $3+ depends on their keywords and retention.

yes good youtubers can make a fortune easily, or even a single good video can make you a living, search for dog tease on youtube :P

i'm interested at your "awesome idea", looking forward for your journey thread :D

the videos that have ads before a video start is called trueview in-stream ads, i think they only appear when there are advertisers that want such ads, videos with good traffic will get those ads more often

Glad to hear. Hopefully it will be epic. But it will take time for sure.

Yes well there are always advertisers to be honest.

I will really appreciate it if an already established youtuber (small or big) can leave comments on my estimation.

I have tried getting traffic from YT but the gain always turned out to be not worth the pain.
I am definitely doing something wrong here. Would love to learn something new from YT masters.

Well I've said this a million times, COMEDY IS THE WINNER at the youtube game. That is obvious if you take a look around. Now integrate comedy with something interesting that generates curiosity, Jackpot!

This is what I mean. They refuse to admit their earnings. Capture.PNG
