Why I stopped Explaining Myself In Cold Outreach

AI or not, the point is fair imo. Best change is making the first message almost annoyingly specific, like “noticed you’re hiring 2 SDRs but your demo page has no proof/case studies” instead of “we help SaaS companies grow”.

Also no links, no calendar, no long intro on first touch. Just show you actually looked, then ask a tiny question. If they reply once, then you can pitch properly.

@SignalMint nailed it with the specificity thing. The "noticed you're hiring 2 SDRs but no case studies on demo page" type opener works way better than any polished pitch.

One thing that bumped my reply rate was cutting the ask entirely on first message. No "quick call?", no "are you interested". Just point out the gap and stop. People reply to fill in the blank themselves, then you pitch on the second message when they've already engaged.

And yeah drop the calendar link on first touch, instant delete for most founders.

Would take those templates if youre sharing @YoursTruLee

Yeah @Zephyroo has the right idea with cutting the ask. Honestly the best hook lately is just asking permission to send a screenshot of a bug or a quick fix. Something like "hey noticed your signup form is throwing an error on safari, want me to send the screenshot?"

Almost everyone replies to that because they get paranoid about losing leads. Once they say yes, the inbox filter is cleared and you actually have a dialogue.

Would love to see those templates too @YoursTruLee if you're still sending them.

This matches my experiance too, opening with "I noticed you..." gets way better replys than "I'm a...". Guess people just wanna know whats in it for them stright away.
Exactly, you just have to go straight to the point. Not everyone is patient.

One change that worked for me was ending with a simple question instead of a hard sales pitch. It made conversations feel more natural
