Why do you need to code when there is Elementor?

The whole last year I spent most of my free time learning IM and web-site creation craftmanship here on BHW. Taking the opportunity to say hello to your mom and big thanks to the whole community here :*
I have one question that bothers me for a long time: "Why do you need to code when the is Elementor?" And I don't mean that in a that-is-worthless-skill-that-is-gonna-die-someday kinda way. I know it's great to understand all of the processes on the back-end you can do your tweaks along the way. You are a better driver if you know how do cars work.

But why to bother learning a new skill, spending years and years, and find yourself in the place where you can do basics, just like you could've done with Elementor first day seeing it, but in order to get to the same spot, you spent A LOT of time.

I hear one mantra from web devs over and over: "Wordpress is a piece of shit. Grow up and delete it." Why though? Yeah, it's basic. Yes, the platform is older than your mom. But It meets all modern standards.

Is Wordpress just a sandbox, a first step in the big comprehensive ladder of the web-development or all of these programmers are having group worldwide butthurt because they invested years in a skill that a 14 y.o. redneck kid can do nowadays?

Elementor is created by programmers lol. Without people learning to code, elementor wouldn't be a thing.

And elementor can only take you so far. It's a landing page builder and helps you customize the front end design of your website. That is great for blogs and basic funnels but anything else that's more advanced needs to be custom made. You aren't going to make the next twitter or facebook with wordpress+elementor. If all you do is make blogs then you have no reason to code.

Also, ALL page builders over bloat your site with unnecessary lines of codes slowing down its page loading speed. This is why you need to optimize your site and use programs like WP Rocket to minimize the impact all plugins (but, page builders in particular) have on your site performance.

Yeah, I was afraid that it would be interpreted in this way...

What I meant was, that I don't really need to code as long as Elementor fulfills my needs, like blogs or corporate websites, even e-commerce. For custom purposes outside of its comprehension, you need to know your stuff, duh. I'm no Mark Zuckerberg.

What I don't understand is why everybody is pointing fingers and laughing at Wordpress based site developers.

Well WordPress in combination with Divi/Elementor is so easy that anybody can use it. Programming takes years of hard work to learn and can be used to make endless types of websites that WordPress (without custom plugins) can't do.

elementor is quite slow, and you need good css , graphic ,, and tons of thing to make convert, but it still good now, I don't know why elementor add SEO , I think they need focus to make their faster, now google speed is quite important, all elementor section quite contain tons of element

Sometimes it's faster and easier to quickly code a little fix rather than messing around with a plugin or builder.

Such as removing a "built in" feature like copyright text in the footer or breadcrumbs you don't want in the header.

You don't need to spend years learning to code in order to learn enough useful things to make your work easier.

I'm learning full-stack development now because there are so many things I want to create, but I'm not able to do it right now because I don't the technical knowledge. Working with freelancers is an option. I've been doing it for years, but good freelancers are often expensive to work with. The bad ones can't often even fathom what exactly is expected of them.

there is no elementor nor bootstrap when i was learning to code. I am wordpress user too and when i have spare time i developed my own themes and plugins. I enjoy to code my websites from scratch too if wordpress don't fill my needs
