Why do you like WordPress?

Without any custom coding, you can do whatever you want on your website with wordpress.
Also, help is everywhere on wordpress!!!

dragontube;

you as with many others, not read what I post here......

I don’t know about php and coding. That's why wp is ease for me to build a site within few days.

wow so easy and user friendly this world class cms, it's not an easy work to build your page with sections.
I have Gutenverse library and Kadence library.

When I add different sections they not have the same width and when I can align it to center then often all elements in the section, are aligned left not ecnter, I be not able to align center these elements too. Horizontal align set it to center or left, no matter nothing happens.

It looks horrible with sections who have different width's and set custom background color is hell in pain, in some sections it works in others not.
Sit the half day at the desktop to find a theme wo works with Logo+Tagline side by side and has a blog grid, then the other half of the day I spend my energy to build a HOME page with multiple sections, make it so that the sections have the same width, background colors......
and not have finished my HOME page, try it tomorrow, what an easy task this world-class gutenberg.

Another issue; when a section is too big in heigh, yeah set it at the right block menu under minimum heigh- right? Nope, not working.
When a section is set to full width all elements in this sections are staying fixed align left, center align them? Nope, not working.

But is is easy and user friendly for you........(rolling eyes)

No matter what I do setting Positioning-Align to center = nothing happen it stays stubborn at align left. Can not make this section align center.

Oh Jesus...
when I add the default Heading block, I can align that block to center. When I use the Gutenverse Heading block, align center is not possible, there are no align settings for this block.

And for both absolute missing to set the font-family fo the heading title, not possible. I can set the font-size that's all. Or this theme not support this, but I'm tired searhing again tne half day 5-6 hours for another theme.....

Holy Moly....

could finished my HOME page today , the whole day a lot of work.
using more standard blocks then blocks from Gutenverse, this works at best at matches well with the theme (in width, height, etc,etc...)
al lot of custom css (simple css plugin) tweakings to make the font-family and size unite for h1, h2, body fonts, blog archive on single post and page, really not user friendly

One problem I could not solve:
two of my sections on HOME page; latest news and testimonials having damm lazy loading, can not disable it, tried this code in the theme function.php- no luck;

add_filter( 'wp_lazy_loading_enabled', '__return_false' );

no luck- this code not works on the actual wordpress version, wordpress is stubborn and deliver these blocks with lazy loading, no matter if their users want that or not.

Tomorrow :
I add my own images in the HOME body text, create 2 minute video and add it.
Then for my three blogs create blog category page with text and add for the first blog 10 pre written posts.
Another 10 pre written posts for the second and third blog will follow at friday.

Then set up my sign up contact page (Hero header has a button who links to the sign up page) this is the easiest way instead of embedd getresponse forms via api ......and connect my email hosting via smtp with getresponse

A lot of work then after that is christmas, holidays.... I need some days for get good rest, start my new online business at Jan 3. 2023

yadda yaddy so easy ......so easy that I must doing 10 custom css tweaks (simple css plugin) each section their fonts amd heading has different font size and family oh is that so easy...

I have some issues I must fix tomorrow;

on mobile view huge space between the sections (on desktop I have set 30px padding space on each section)
the two sections with lazy load not working on mobile not showing up- blank section
Switch to standard theme-menu not work on mobile, lazy loading sections not showing up= blank, what a nightmare.

Ho I do fix these blank lazy load sections?
Pagespeed is going more slow from with 6 sections and 8 plugins from forst LCP in 850ms down to 1,5 seconds (nut that's fast enough )

Goodnight rest and sleep guys

Why do you like WordPress? Do you believe WordPress is still unbeatable in terms of blogging and SEO?
Wordpress has tons of plugins that helps with SEO. CMS like Squarespace Wix and Shopify (unless you pay for their app) don't even allow optimization of core web vitals, sitemap editing, access to htaccess file, etc.

While you can pretty much hit green scores for the CWS with WordPress, other CMS isn't possible yet.

Elementor page builder is so easy to use on a Wordpress website.

No need to pay a freelancer to make a cool looking one page website.

Can do it yourself in less than 1h.

At this point, it's literally just a force of habit.

Now finished my HOME page then I got jumpings on the site title and speed on mobil eis horrible 8.2 seconds on LCP !

Removed all blocks, now I remove all blocks plugins and using only these boring standard blocks not any pre made patterns/ designs.
Also folks this is really piece of shit and not an user friendly and easy to work cms workflow.
Adding blocks then getting layout shifts and jumpings on site title or page title and body images, maybe this is normal for you, but fo me not.

Some blocks from Gutenverse haveing lazy loading (you can not disable that) some not. Some blocks not match well with the theme, some not.
So you work on tht 2-3 days to find out which blocks are working good with your theme and which not, as compare to squarespace, in SS this will not happen to you. (but you not recognize it)

Now I tried build the HOME page with Elementor and TemplateKits Elementor+ RoyalElementor

Here the sections and blocks working fine on my theme, form all three Elementor plugins, no any issues on the website with layout shifts or jumping elements- I be impressed.

But set a custom background color for a section is hard ,the color looks darker on mobile, it always has a Background overlay primary color who is different (Neve theme colors), I replcaed that with my custom color- but no luck the darker overlay stucks.

Next issues: I have 4 sections and page speed is horrible;
Desktop page loading in 2 seconds LCP is fine but vital score 85 is not so good , it's showing some issues...but I do not kno who wdo fix this , I have compressed all my images on that page.

Mobile page speed is horrible vital score of 35 LCP loading is 11 seconds.

All this is horrible, whole page size is 2,5MB not much. TTFB is fast.
On a squarespace site with a page size of 2.5MB, the whole page I be sure- will loading faster than 2 seconds on LCP.

I wonder what is this all about......
Can not use pagelayer builder with the Popular FX themes- all themes I tried had layout shifts and jumping elements, but page speed was good, better than with Elementor.

Or back to standard gutenberg blocks , that means only one gutenberg blocks plugin , not 2-3, or using the wordpress core standard boring gutenberg blocks, then they should working fine in the theme. If you using 2-3 gutenberg blocks plugins, some with pre made sections, then you will get a lot of issues like layout shifts, lazy loading, jumping elements and all sort of that shit horror.

But really the standard gutenberg blocks and the few theme patterns not will impress any professional business entrepreneur or websites who are big in seo.

No. I don't like Wordpress for everything.

I think there is a CMS best for every option like eCommerce, sorry but Wordpress is a shit in that.

For eCommerce / Store online I would consider instead of Wordpress
  • Prestashop (free)
  • Opencart (free)
  • Shopify (paid, but easy and is more faster to create store)
  • Magento (last option, because is heavy and is not easy for newbies)
  • Drupal (not for everyone)
For blogging I think there are better CMS obviously in speed than Wordpress
  • Data Life Engine (DLE) - Paid but faster!
  • Ghost - Much better than Wordpress and is free https://github.com/TryGhost/Ghost
  • Joomla - Free (one of main competitors of Wordpress)
  • Drupal
Wordpress is good? Yes for blogging only. For store is my last option.

Hi Deleted member 1393709 today !

thank you for th etips, I like squarespace...how easy that thing is to use. (I tested it on trial phase)
but I have a dedicated ip so the ip will be lost when I switch to squarespace.

The pagelayer builder is super and has fast page loading, but all themes I tried from the popular FX plugin had layout shifts and element jumpings
(the nav bar) maybe I should try it again without a pre made template build my HOME page from blank with the FX sections maybe then the layout shifts will be gone ?

Drupal as a more closed system is more stable with their plugins. But when I get headaches with gutenberg editor, the Drupal layout builder is way more complicated ....I wonder that you can use it....

SitaPad is easy to use too but page loading speed is absolute worse, horror..like Elementor.
My thought now is to try Drupal installing it in a subdirectory, the setup is complicate denough, but will I be able to us etheir layout builder add rows then add blocks (sections) ?

Two years ago I tried Drupal, I was not able to set a primary menu with my pages and 2 blog categories...the theme showed up always two menus, on primary and one second menu, that was looking weird.

Now I see with the Neve theme the culprit of that damm background primary color with overlay, the gutenberg editor interface has no wa background color instead of white skin, also I can not calling such issues in a cms "the world best class cms " such things should not happen in a good cms system.

Now I must swithing the theme again....

Give a try to Data Life Engine (is paid but i think they have a free limited edition https://dle-news.com/demo.html )
I'm sure if you use cloudflare + data life engine you will have A+ in the tests very nice CMS.

Also give a try to Ghost (a bit more complicated to install but is very good admin ui)
https://github.com/TryGhost/Ghost (search in google they have own website you search ghost cms)
