Why do you like WordPress?

Hi today,

I say it again and again but people not listen....
The today version of wp is way too complicated. The themes from wordpress org looking great in the preview but wrong promises you will get when you activate it.....

Now I install and activate the Edin theme and the Magazine Power theme free form wordpress org.
Having a template kit and gutenberg block plugin. Set a few pages and the menu.

First check preview if the theme looks good or not- wrong, empty blank page with both themes.
Then click on Home page- edit- it is blank in the gutenberg editor all the pre configured theme styles what you see in the themes preview are gone, page is white blank empty.

With this in mind I can use a blank theme and spend days on it to build an own customized theme instead of using pre configured themes, who make building the design easy and fast.

This is really crap and makes me very frustrated. Why on the wordpress org themes showing me good looking previews when they not deliver it?
So the only chance I have with this is using a block plugin with pre configured patterns and templates or using premium free themes from the jetpack free plugin.

When I use a template kit from a plugin, it looks good with the preconfigured styles in gutenberg editor, but when I try to remove blocks and adding another blocks from gutenberg, it's not possible to replace the exist template kit block with the new gutenberg block.

How you guys handle this on the new wordpress version?
I get headache now......

When I look back a few months ago, I was on Squarespace trial phase, all was so easy, you see templates and patterns then import it and voila! you have this pre configured theme in your editor and you can customize it.
With gutenberg not (most themes) .

I not understand why people like this, so you can use a blank theme and build your own customized design spending days on it, choose a theme is useless with these not pre configured styled free themes.
This is crank and sick.

Wordpress is good because its easy to use and user friendly over .

I like Wordpress of the user friendly interface. It is very good for blogging.

Everything is so easy in WordPress. Easy to learn and easy to apply. Very customizable.

Because it is user-friendly. It helps users create their own website without having any coding experience.

like many of the answers of this thread, wp is easy for non-devs and is affordable. But my biggest reason i go for WP is, the depository and the ecosystem it has built around it. To me, if feels as rich as Android Playstore or App Store. The themes, plugins, integrations- people have done so much around the world to make wp user-friendly and feature-rich.

I show you so you can understand and see:

first screen= is theme preview in the theme dashboard
second screen= in the wordpress preview mode= theme layout is blank
third screen= gutenberg editor Home page= layout is blank

And the theme has no one click demo import ( most themes not have that)

This is normal for you and easy to use ?
When I see a theme in wordpress library who has a goos looking home page and a good looking blog, this is what I expecting not a different layout.

Of course, no good alternative is there yet. But I would love to see some new platform in future which can compete. It will give us options.

yes it works when I build my Home page layout from scratch blank with blocks and patterns.
So you not need spending hours to find a good looking theme in wp library, since most themes looking blank in your preview or in your gutenberg editor.

But big con side with patterns is, when you have multiple patterns on your Home page then you have multiple different font styles (font family) and font sizes, it's a pain to make the font conform unit in style and size.

Because when you need to make a simple site quickly WordPress is the best option, you can make a normal site in 1 day

I like Drupal more, but everything is long and not easy, it is more suitable for one high-quality startup, while there is no own engine, several months of work and you get a good site

It's easy to customize and bunch of templates to choose from

yes it's easy to customize because your beautiful predefined theme layout is showing blank in gutenberg editor, so you must build the page layout from scratch.
So long as I only customize the home page with gutenberg, the other pages I leave the other pages as they are..
With this I can live with gutenberg + patterns.

Use twentig, starter themes and control block pattern plugins and you have a nice library of themes and patterns, easy to customize your specific page.

But wordpress+gutenberg will never reach the level of user friendliness of squarespace, may be you ignore it, but that's your choice.

Now I want import a starter theme template and whammm! I get this error in gutenberg editor:

"Your site doesn’t include support for the "uagb/container" block. You can leave this block intact, convert its content to a Custom HTML block, or remove it entirely."

what a big piece of shit it is.
So now I remove the starter themes plugin hope to find a similar plugin who works better.
I see the stackable plugin is causing this error, removed it anda lot of database entries from this plugin,then purge all.

No luck, in the pages-gutenberg editor the stackable plugin templates is showing up- so I must remove the entire wordpress installation in the cpanel, all of because of only one plugin ! I will check if I can install a staging site so this will never happen again.

Then from the last 2 days trying some themes and plugins, then remove them. But they left huge bloated countless entries in the mysql database, no matter if you delete these themes/plugins.

Oh what a gift from heaven this "first class cms" is......this is big piece of shit.
Yes I hear you screaming "that is not the fault of wordpress itself" really ?

The Automattic team let plugins make this horror happen to the wp core system ?
Better I choose squarespace.....

WordPress makes search engine optimization easier
Thanks to plugins like Yoast SEO, All in One SEO, and more, it's incredibly easy to SEO-optimize WordPress without needing to be a code genius. All you need to do is configure some basic settings and the plugins handle the rest.

Its Very easy to customize , Attractive Themes And Plugins

no the gutenberg editor and the new beta FSE editor are not very user friendly.
There are better seo plugins then yoast, who generates double and threefold seo entries for your pages and posts...(you can see in your wp admin dashboard) I think having doubled or threefold seo meta data is not helpful for you, it's bad for your seo.

And have in mind that WP will in 2-3 years replace the classic and gutenberg editor with the new FSE, I be not able to use the FSE it's a nightmare of editor. Gutenberg editor is not bad and relative easy to use, but has a few boring free patterns and templates. Most are premium. Same with the free Elementor boring templates from 2014.

I think about now to switch to SitePad or Squarespace, I not want to make my life harder and more complicated with themes who not works well in elementor or gutenberg templates and blocks and vice versa. Installing 10 themes a day before you will find one that works is a painful workflow.

Try different themes the half day long, install and remove, install and remove...the same with plugins and then whammm! After some time you will get errors and blank page, then check your phpmyadmin Database, it is full with lot's of fragments from themes and plugins your have removed. In that scenario I hope you have a backup of your exist wp site when not, the only way is to make a new installation in cpanel.

So here buy a external manage service who fix your wp problems or use a stable and easy to use cms system.

Such weak thing is called the "world class cms", no it's not world class or first class. It's not normal that templates and plugins interrupt your database when you install and remove them in wp dashboard.

I not know one cms there who causing such interrupt erros. When you try to build a serious online business, then you should not have a backend where you must spend a few hours in a month to fix errors.

Example Drupal; I like their concept of having themes and plugins in one closed system, Drupal is checking their themes and plugins before you can download them this helps to keep a cms stable, wordpress not.

The same with Typo3 but it is antique who wants to learn a new coding language when using a cms?

Does the WP VIP package for the media newspapers having the same issues? I be sure- not.

WP is not bad and relative easy to use but wen I look back, every 4-6 weeks a new wordpress version updates comes out but they not fix all these issues, Automattic a team of fools.
