Why do people buy traffic?

Or you can buy em for your competition... especially if they are running google ads... Adsense dosent like fake traffic...

Can do A/B testing of different variants of design before start production. A/B testing on cheap traffic before begin expensive marketing campaign.

But mostly to show fake big statistics to customer of marketing or web site development.

I'm pretty sure some people are using it for other fraudelent reasons: for their clients to show growth, lower click-through-rates on Adsense, lower conversion rates on CPA offers, generate revenue on CPM ad networks (I know some of these networks definitely don't care as long as you hide it well and you're bringing them good revenue), and some maybe even resell the traffic to unsuspecting buyers.

Well if you have a drive by exploit, you can easily build up a botnet with thousands of bots in matter of seconds
