Why are certain pages getting removed from Google Index constantly ?

This is something that I have noticed has been happening lately to me, on different websites out there probably about 5 now, webpages I create on them that get indexed in Google shortly there after appear to be removed from Google. But then when I log into a Google account and manually submit the URL for indexing submission it usually instantly or soon after gets indexed back in Google when I search the URL. And this keeps happening to the same pages, sometimes the URL disappears in Google in just 1 day sometimes it's there for 5 days before it disappears. And again if I manually submit the URL it comes back.

So what is the cause of this ? I don't want to have to keep submitting every webpage back every couple days. I should mention that these websites I'm creating pages on are not my own websites I'm talking about established domains like web2.0s sometimes.

well idk. sometimes my sitemap changes from 68 indexed to 66 indexed and goes back next day to 68/68.

maybe the reason is that it only shows 10 pages or something, so if your page feels out of first 10 pages then it gets unindexed

What do you mean exactly ?


Also all of these webpages this has ever happened to are usually on first page of google for keywords. Also I should note most of these webpages are newly created so I wondered if this was just a Google "dance" type thing but why would the URLs not show up anywhere in Google at times if they were dancing ? Is that possible ?

Anymore ideas about this guys ?

I see the same thing when checking my SERP rankings. Some keywords fall in and out of page 10. It's normal

We can't really understand because google algorithm always have small updates and these may cause sites to reappear or disappear in index.. Is your website new? Because sometimes it will take time to stabilize your site or pages in serps.

the thing is all my pages are very big (6k words) and they contain a lot of kws. its not likely that any of these pages ranks just for 1 keyword (someone in first 10 G pages), and gets deindexed when the kw fells out. because they target too many kws.

This definitely shouldn't be happening. Check for duplicate content or anything else on-site that could result in the de-indexing

Same thing happening with me as well. Pages are getting deindexed, then getting indexed next day.
This is happening for brand new site, around 10 days old. May be some kind of google dance?

I have even noindexed category, tags and disabled author pages.

Still seeing this happen when creating new pages. And Yeah all these pages I'm talking about are new pages, so my best guess is that it just takes longer to stabilize fully. Just in the old days I never seen pages seem to deindex like this early after being indexed.

@obeselizard i checked this morning a website that i blasted links to and it got indexed (overnight). Then it was deindexed for half a day. Then Indexed Again.


it makes absolutely no sense.

Its like either they broke their index OR they have massively extended their deindexing algo = so now there are more things that decide if your site gets deindexed. of course authority is what prevents it.

so in the end its like:
0. site gets blasted by links.
1. site gets indexed
2. site seems to trigger some new deindexing algo features.
3. site gets deindexed.
4. either more links from point 0. gets indexed or after a timestamp this domain gets authority from previous links. So now it has enough authority to not get deindexed by whatever caused it.
