Hi experts,

I am running a wordpress blog since 2013. I changed my theme before 3 days back and tried to check my speed with gtmetrix. But I did not get result. Due to this reason, I installed WP fastest cache plugin (free) and checked result but again I found not good result. It may be happen due to my theme or something else. At present gtmetrix is showing the following result

PageSpeed Score > 11%
Yslow Score > 55%
Full loaded Time > 5.2s
Total Pase Size > 4.95MB
Requests > 160

I already tried WP super cache and total cache too all provided me not good result. I am not using any CDN (of course it is not cheap and I can not bare it).
Now I am confusing that should I need to change my theme or change my plugin? Could I get some guidance from an expert? I am not knowing any coding or SEO but I am aware of SEO. I am simply an Oracle database administrator. I run my site for providing some tips, guidance, and technical help to the community.
Thanks in advance.

WP Robot is the best of all. I love it. Plus, you can use cloudflare mate.

Use cloudflare and nitropack together to get a good result

Try - WP Fastest Cache.

he said he’s using wp fastest cache, move your site to siteground or Wpx your cdn will be free, use wp rocket with autoptimise it’s available here for free courtesy of Wordpress god @Festinger also clouflare is free to use

If your server supports LiteSpeed, then I would use the LiteSpeed caching plugin. It's fantastic, feature-rich, pretty easy to configure (as long as you know what you're doing), and has worked well for me. My favorite part is the Cloudflare integration. It can remotely purge your Cloudflare cache! That's really useful if you've ever been through the annoying cycle of: Update something, purge site cache, go to Cloudflare, purge CF cache, refresh.

What theme are you using?

160 requests, 5 mb page size. Something definitely wrong with theme.

Have you checked waterfall details on gtmetrix.

“Best” is an opinion, not a fact. 20 different people will tell you 20 different things. If there was one singular “best” option we ALL would be using it.

And the thought that you can simply add some "magical" plugin and speed up your site is false. a lot of work goes into really optimizing a site.

Thanks for your valuable reply. I am using Newsbox Pro theme. I am using image compression of jpeg-optimizer (dot)com. My site address is orageek(dot) com. I am planning to use Newspaper X theme in the near future.

Hi, Thanks for your guidance. I already stated that CDN is not affordale to me. I can use free plan of cloudflare. I am not earning anything using this site. This site is only for providing tips, guidance to DBA community. Does free plan of cloudflare is sufficent to improve performance of my site?

Yes, I run probably like 30 sites through Cloudflare and only ever use the free plan. Your site will be fine.

I use as plugin wp rocket with cloud flare. For sites with more images/media like shops I use additional cloud front.

I use LiteSpeed all the time and it is fantastic! I like to use Cyberpanel on DigitalOcean. It is a bit of a pain to migrate an existing Apache site though.

You could just give him a suggestion instead of acting smart and promote your service.

To OP:

Just follow my guide, and use WPRocket or Nitropack with Cloudflare. @Festinger have it posted for free somewhere on the forum just search for it.

With more than one million active installs, W3 Total Cache is one of the most popular WordPress cache plugins on the market.
